Bride's Diary
Healthy Body, Healthy Mind
Things have calmed a lot since my last entry, all the paper
work on the house is finished and we have a lot of our furniture
bought and delivered so I can turn my attention back to the
wedding! On the one hand I can’t believe I still have
to wait 15 months to walk down the aisle and on the other
hand I love the organising so much that I wish it were longer!
We have started to look at invitations and flowers. We were
going to order the invitations from America but changed our
minds so now we have decide to let our creative juices flow
and make our own (or at least attempt it!). I made a trip
to Dublin last week and came home with so much paper Alan
thought I was going to start my own shop. We think we have
decided on the one we like so it’s just a matter of
buying it and starting the process. Although I don’t
think I should buy anything just yet, I have changed my mind
so many times about the type of flowers that I want so I’ll
probably be the same with the invites. I had decided on gerbera’s,
then roses, then freesia, then baby’s breath. I’m
now back with Gerbera’s but with Tulips! I wanted red,
then yellow, then white, now hot pink and orange! I’m
sure I’ll change my mind a hundred more times before
the wedding. I am going to Galway on Saturday to sample wedding
cake filling in Goya’s. I can’t wait. I used to
live in Galway and it was always a treat to have a Goya’s
cake with a cup of tea. The only thing I have decided about
the cake is I don’t want fruitcake after that I’m
not too sure.
I have also decided to start my beauty regime. I have 15
months to get my skin, hair and body in shape so I think I
have plenty of time! My sister in law to be bought me some
fantastic Clinque products for Christmas (the three step)
so that’s my start for the skin. I am walking every
evening and drinking plenty of water. I have also started
counting points again! I lost three stone a year ago on the
weight watchers plan so I’m sure I can shift the last
two in a year (or at least here’s hoping). As for my
hair, well, you can see in my photo I have very short blonde
hair. Well at the moment my hair is dark brown and about 2
inches longer. I am going back to blonde, that’s step1.
Step 2, I am going to start doing intensive conditioning treatments
once a week. I think if I can manage all that I’ll be
very happy.
So here’s to the start of a new me, all I have to do
is resist the chocolate….and the wine…..and the
take aways……and the couch!
