Bride's DiarySeeing Double!!! Sean decided he couldnt choose between his 2 best friends so he decided hes having both of them as his Best Men. So that left me with a difficult decision a second bridesmaid. Thought I had gotten off lightly with the whole bridesmaid decision and I knew having my sister would be a good choice, shes calm where Im panicky and stubborn where Id give in so I reckoned wed balance each other out. I can usually rely on her for good advice too, though I may not always like the sound of it!! Sohow do you pick among very very different friends?? I didnt. I asked my aunt and she was delighted! As my sister is currently living abroad, its a bit tricky trying to get the two of them together to look at dresses, though Im probably worrying about it way too early (very unlike me!!). We arranged a trip in town the last time my sister was home and my mother brought my aunt down from Donegal for the weekend. Alas, no luck, either they liked it and I didnt or I Loved it and they hated it so It was a fruitless shopping exhibition. My sister and I did see a dress we both loved in town, hopefully a bridal shop in Sligo will stock the same dress so my aunt can see it. Got the nod of approval from my mother so looks like it will be that dressthough I have been swayed in the meantime by 3 very different dresses2 of them mum likedone of them she said looked Cheap..well it certainly didnt come cheap!! Can hardly believe we have passed the 1 year to go mark. It also marked our 4 year going out anniversary! Got a lovely surprise on the day a huge bouquet of flowers delivered to me in work! Ive never had flowers delivered so I was chuffed to bits! Have been getting invitation samples and Im totally confused..so many different styles how can you make your mind up? And the range in price!! Havent decided yet on a definite..still researching! We will be using Seans fathers car as our wedding car so thats one thing off the list! Still no band or Dj organised. Went into the market on Saturday morning to see what flowers are available this time of year.changed my mind again and decided I would like roses in the bouquets after all..though I will probably still have orchids in mine..im really glad I went in because now I can picture the flowers and I know what I can getwithout picturing something not in season and being disappointed next year. Fell in love with the bay trees..but my grandmother, who will be helping me with the flowers, suggested getting topiary stands for next to nothing and doing our own bay trees and as my parents have a 20ft bay tree in their garden, we wont be short of foliage! I feel like I should be more organised.but Ive plenty of time..almost a year..havent I?? Until next time .. Sinead. |
