We were there last may and we loved it.Stayed in Dreams La Romana hotel was nice food not great.the fishing village next to it was gergous loved the people there and the food.Would go back again in the morning but would be slow about the hotel.

It is very very poor we did a good few of the tours would recommed them as it is great to see the country no point in going and staying in the hotel get out there and see it.Loved Santo Domigo if i we were to go again would stay for a day or 2.

Any quistion just ask

Hey,

We went to DR a couple of years ago. Its AMAAAAZING :o)ll !! We did a week in Dreams Punta Cana and a week in Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana. Loved loved loved the hotels and the food in ours was fantastic (and I am a VERY picky eater!) The beaches are to die for, proper white sand and sparkling clear water. We went in low season for them (end of June) so the nightlife wasnt great and TBH there wasnt a lot going on outside the resorts, it really is another world :eek

We didnt do a whole lot of tours, a few water sports /quad bikes & horse riding. There were trips to see local schools etc but we were kind of put off by people we met over there, it just depends what you're into really.

The people are lovely too, always have a smile and a kind work to say! I'm sure you'll have a FAB time, soooooo jealous O-O

Sorry I only seen your reply now Laura, we didn't go with the preferred club as we didn't think it was worth the extra cost but for my honeymoon I might be tempted to go all out!!
From what I can remember they had an exclusive pool, restaurant & lounge, free internet access and upgraded mini bar.
If you were guaranteed an ocean view (tropical view is the same regardless whether you're preferred club or not... trees!) jacuzzi bath, internet access and it was worth the price I'd say go for it, otherwise their pool was quite small & had no bar and there are plenty of restaurants on site so I wouldn't pay just to have one extra!
Oh and the "premium drinks" thing... it depends on the barman and not on your guest status :o0

Hope that helps!!
