We stayed in the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki Beach and it was amazing.not sure of the price as we'd a package that also included Las Vegas and Chicago. Hawaii was amazing though. Met the cast on Hawaii Five-O on our first morning there! The hotel puts on an amazing fireworks display every Friday night as well. The room was basic enough but we'd an empty fridge so we could keep sandwiches, drinks etc in there. Most tours will do pick ups from this hotel as well. The complex is massive there's 5 or 6 towers so it's a bit of a walk to reception once you're dropped off. Hope this helps

Are you going to Maui or Ohau? We stayed in Maui in the Wailea Marriott. It was gorgeous but gets so many people on honeymoon that they don't give you any little extras like upgrading your room. We weren't on our honeymoon but spoke with couples who were. We stayed in Waikiki in Ohau but didn't stay anywhere honeymoon worthy. The Hilton looked really nice and the firework display was great.

We are going to south america, can't wait! We haven't booked it yet but are thinking Brazil, Ecuador and Colombia for a month. We spent a year travelling around the world and couldn't fit south america in so we can't wait to go. It's just difficult trying to decide where to go because we love to spend months travelling around. We blew our taxback money in Maui when we were travelling but it was totally worth it! :o0 :o0 :o0 Just remembered another hotel! If you stay in Ohau Turtle bay hotel is gorgeous! :lvs It's right on the beach but bit of a spin from the shopping mall. Have you ever seen the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall? Well that's the hotel in the movie. You can take a local bus to the shopping mall, its $2 doesn't matter how long you stay on in! There's a beach just a little bit away from the Turtle Bay hotel where giant turtles just lay on the sand. I loved watching them but really depends on yourself. Also if your feel like an adventure you can do a shark cage snorkel. :o)ll :o)ll :o)ll It was amazing!
If you end up booking somewhere in Vegas I recommend staying somewhere central on the strip. Paris, Bally, Planet Hollywood, Belagio or Caesars Palace. Enjoy booking everything!

Cavan Girl - flight is 10.5hrs from Newark and this is the hardest part of the journey - Continental has the same movies really from Ireland to Newark as going from Newark to Honolulu but still journey worth it.

We stayed in the Outrigger on the beach which was fab. Really nice hotel. Room was lovely and spacious. We didn't have a full on view of the ocean only partial but we were looking out onto Diamond Head. Could see all the early morning surfers at 6am. I'd love to go back and if I did, would stay here again.

We went and viewed other hotels and had drinks etc in them. Further up on the strip is insanely busy on the beach so it was a little less busy but a nice beach walk up to the busy part.

Def hire a car and drive at yer own pace for 2 days if ye can. This was the part that we loved. We went to the north part of the island where Turtle Bay is and went swimming there and had some drinks. The DOle plantation was good.

Cheesecake Factory is a must while there. can seat over 600 people and you just wouldn't realise it as service is so quick and good.

Enjoy girls.

Hyatt Regency was absolutely fabulous when we stayed there in 2009. We were in a Garden Terrace Room which was really lovely. It has a great location on the beach, you can walk all the way along the boardwalk to the shopping centre and some lovely restaurants.

We also stayed in the Hiltin Hawaiian Village on Oahu, we really enjoyed it it but if we ever went back we would stay in Outrigger or go North to Turtle Bay. The Hilton was just too big and impersonal for us.
