South Africa Honeymoon?

Hi all
Just wondering if anyone out there went on honeymoon to mauritius and south africa or are thinking of going, if so would appreciate any tips or suggestions.

We went to SA for 3 weeks, what time of year are you going? We did the Garden Route and safari, booked through Trailfinders. If you want any specific info PM me!! :wv

We are heading to South Africa next week, doing cape town, stellenbosch, prince albert, knysna and Kariega game reserve. Any tips????

Nickyd, you're so lucky!!

When you get to Cape Town, try and do Table Mountain and Robben Island straight away, as they're very susceptible to the weather. Same is you're going to do a helicopter ride, Civair were the company we went with for this.

The Waterfront is fantastic for shopping and eating out, Camps Bay has some fab restaurants too, where ye staying in CT?

The red bus trip is cool, gives you a good look around the city.

Stellenbosch is a lovely wee town, very chilled and again great food. To be honest, you'll eat very well in SA, they love their food!

We didn't go to Kariega on safari, but bring layers, its gets cold early in the morning and in the evening too.
You'll love it have a ball!!!

Thanks for reply, havent learnt how to pm yet, only just joined :) will figure it out over the next fews days. Hoping to go on honeymoon on 2nd of october. have quote got from travel focus but am still looking around. Not doing garden route, plan mauritius for 5nights, cape town for 4 and safari for 3. Any hotel recomendations?

For Mauritius check out the Beachcomber Hotels- they have about 7 on the island and they're all incredible.

For Cape Town, the Vineyard Hotel in Newlands, the Twelve Apostles Hotel in Oudekraal or the Mount Nelson would be my recommendations. All fantastic and just that little bit special for a honeymoon.

Hi Trixie,

In CT, we stayed in the Southern Sun Cullinan near the Waterfront and then in the Primi Royal in Camps Bay. The Primi is a bit basic but great vibe, friendly staff and near great restaurants too. The Twelve Apostles is meant to be AMAZING!!!! October should be a fab time to go too, that's their spring so it should be nice! You lucky things ;)
