Money & thailand
We are off to Ko Samui, Ko Phangan and Bangkok for honeymoon.
Does anyone have experience on the best way to take money over. Like, should we bring an amount of cash in thai baht and just take money out as we go. Do the ATM's charge much and are they reliable ? Any advice would be great. [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

Hey - luck you! We travelled Thailand in 2009. We used ATMs all the time, usually took out about THB10,000 at a time, about €200. They have ATMs nearly everywhere - put the money on your credit card, I think that's the best way to avoid them not liking your regular ATM card - depending on what bank you're with, the charges for being in credit on your card are quite low and the FX rate is better than on the ATM card. We had travellers cheques but to be honest, it was more hassle trying to cash them in that we didn't use them in the end. Maybe get some Baht before you head off just to have some. Nicer hotels will have CC facilities too.
One of the best places for ATMs were the 7-11s! [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

Re: Money & thailand
Did Thailand last summer for 4 wks! ATMs are everywhere in the islands! You'll have a ball, Thailand is one of favourite places in the world. It would have been our honeymoon destination but we travelled Asia last summer for 8 weeks so we decided on the states. Only got engaged in October!
