Totally confused person needs some help !!!!

Planning on a winter wedding Christmas week 2004, want an unusual location... open to all suggestions. Don't want to go down the road of the usual ceremony, hotel, meal, speeches, band , DJ etc. Thinking of a really nice restaurant that caters for weddings and a bit of a knees up somewhere afterwards... Anybody got any ideas???? :?

I think you will find it hard getting a restaurant to yourself during Christmas week, what with office parties etc. What about hiring a Marquee and getting a buffet if you could think of somewhere special you could have it?

a marquee is a good idea cos you can really have it where you want and the way you'd like it, they are expensive because of insurance but I like the idea. Do you have agarden you cold "borrow"??!
is a local hall or club out of the question? It won't suit us cos of numbers but someone else had it in a local tennis club which was nice.
