Need a Florists help.

Need a Florists help.

Postby drummerswife2b » Fri Mar 30, 2022 1:12 pm

Hi,

My mum is a dab hand at flowers so is making all my church arrangements (done before) and bouquets (not done before). To make things a little easier we bought 7cm bouquet holders which I thought would be big enough for bridesmaid and my bouquet. They are too small for my own (they even look small for bridesmaids but they will do) but just wondering what size would you recommend for a bridal bouquet and where can you buy them as I can't seem to find any larger then 8cm online.

Thanks for any help received.

Hi there,

I have only used holders 10 cm oasis holders when creating cascading bouquets but the key would be to keep the stems longer!! Hope this helps, you are generally better off without the oasis in my opinion though. I noticed that there are some great tutorials on you tube, hope these help.

Good luck with it,

Thanks Yvonne. Went into a local florist and he also advised not to bother with the holder. Will try them for the bridesmaids but gonna try a hand tie for my own. It's just roses so figures crossed. Will check out you tube. Thanks for the tip.

Hand-tied bouquets are much easier to make and feel much more luxurious to hold. Use plenty of foliage kept below the roses, it will help make the bouquet full and round. I've been doing bridal bouquets for over a dozen years, never use plastic holders!

Best of luck!
