Recommendation for Band in Arklow

Hi All,
anyone recommend a band for our wedding in Arklow?
Not really in a position to spend too much time looking and going to listen to loads of bands so any recommendations would be a good start to narrow it down.

Hi, all of the well known Dublin Bands will travel to Arklow, but the best nearest band to that venue would be the Big Chill, a three piece who have been reccommended on WOL in the past,

Hi April2005,

I'm also getting married in Arklow and we got a band from Meath, you will find alot of bands are willing to travel as the majority of them do pub gigs anyway!
You could try the Big Jewels, they are from Wicklow Town. Also try the hotel you are getting married in, they should have a list of bands in the local area.
Where in Arklow are you getting married??

Its in the Arklow Bay. How about you? The hotel did give me a list but was really just looking for a band that people had been to - I have a daughter so can't get out often to listen to bands so just wanted recommendations to narrow the legwork down! and of course time is ticking away aswell.

Have a couple of names to work on now so hopefully will be sorted soon.
Trying to get most of the stuff done and dusted before Xmas.
How are your plans coming along?

Hi April,

Am also in the Arklow Bay, its gorgeous isnt it! I had my debs there years ago and I just couldnt believe the transformation of it!

If you need more names of bands let me know as I have a good few and all again are willing to travel. Plans are going ok April - have the main things booked like the church, priest, reception, band and the video guy! Am going to start on the rest after Christmas as we're not getting married until the 01st of October. Although would like to get the photographer booked before then, are you having someone from the area (Wicklow?) How are you getting on with your plans...gettting closer to D Day for you....all excited!!

E - my photographer is from wicklow - I can recommend you if you are interested pm me and I'll give you the low down!

Yeah its very exciting although I spend most of my time with a knot in my stomach! Hotel have been really helpful and have put up with all my stupid questions!! I am living in dublin so don't get down there a whole lot. A load of us will be staying the night before as well so should be a good L O N G weekend!!

Hi arklow bay brides,
My sil got married there last year.It was lovely great room for dancing!!They got a nice day and had the welcome drinks on the lawns.

Hi,
Mine's in Rathsallagh, near Dunlavin, so similar distance. We're having the Long John Jump Band. We went to hear them play and were impressed. The feedback on them was excellent so we didn't bother shopping around.. just booked them. It's what we wanted (non-traditional type of weddingy-band). They're a 7 piece swing type band. They will charge extra for outside of Dublina, and are not cheap, but hopefully will be worth it.

Hi Jan05 - didn't realise you were another Rathsallagh bride - great choice!!!!
LJJB are great - my sister had them at her wedding in May - kept the place jumping all night.
