Hiya

Anybody got married / getting married or been to a wedding in the Brook Lodge, Aughrim. Have been down to see hotel and was really impressed. The chapel on the grounds is a lovely feature, think they only do blessings though, not full weddings, anybody know???

Interested to hear peoples experiences of the hotel, good and bad !

hi
the chapel isn't consecrated and can't have catholic wedding ceremony in it, only blessing. setting is lovely though.
have you seen the "apartment style" rooms in the new wing? bath in corner of bedroom, pretty cool I must say!
its a very slick operation down there! we were shown around by one of the directors and they were really very nice but its not our cup of tea.

I was at a wedding there in September, and I can honestly say it was one of the nicest weddings i was ever at, the food is really georgous, the service was brillant, and the place itself was beautiful, the surroundings are fab, and if you have a good day for it, you would get the most beautiful pictures. I would probaly guess it is pretty expensive but i woud say well worth it, go for it!!!!

We went to look at BrookLodge last feb for our wedding on Jan2nd. Loved it and then went to a friends wedding there in August and we knew we had made the right choice. Lovely food(all organic!), nice room for reception, plenty of rooms for guests to stay and the spa which we plan to use the day before for massages and facials ect. Also getting makeup done that moring by makeup artist from spa. Chapel really cool which we are also using as we have just had civil part of wedding in registry office and using the chapel on the day for the blessing.
I've been very happy so far, just hope the day goes well.

hi Lainey,

I would book Brook Lodge without any hesitation, I was thinking of it for my wedding next year but decided to go with the Castleknock Hotel and Country Club instead as it is so close to home. Anyone else book there yet?

I was at a wedding in BL over the summer. Thought it was lovely and the food was excellent - my realy issue was with the bedrooms - shabby and pretty neglected - and totally overpriced €240 for a double!!!
Other than that I do think it is a lovely spot.
