*Update* Wedding Shoes - Worth The Money?

*Update* Wedding Shoes - Worth The Money?

Postby bluepolkadots » Tue May 08, 2022 12:23 pm

Hi,

So for ages I had it in my head that I was going to get blue shoes as my something blue... I haven't found any I like so was considering buying dyeable shoes and getting the bridal shop to dye them same colour as bridesmaid dresses which are blue.

My first dress fitting is end of May so I need to get cracking on this!

Anyway never intended on spending too much on shoes but yesterday I saw these when I was looking up plain dyeable shoes http://www.rainbowclub.co.uk/fairytale and now I'm all confused! They are the first pair of wedding shoes that I've been like "wow" over. Totally love them and can't get them out of my head. To the point that I'm thinking forget about the blue shoes and get these!

i'm not sure whether to go for them or not - realistically they'll get wrecked won't they? But should I just say feck it and go for it it's my special day?! We are within budget so far (fingers crossed will stay that way!) and these are strecting my outfit budget! The thoughts of spending £199 on shoes that I may only wear once and are going to get wrecked makes me feel a bit sick but I also think I may not find others I like as much... I have been looking online and in the odd shop for near on a year!!!

Help!

God no I couldn't spend that on shoes I'll wear once, I never wear white/ivory so they'd be very expensive dust gatherers. I've ordered a pair of silver platforms with a bow on the toe that I'm itching to wear already, €70, and I will get years of wear out of them. And when people compliment them on nights out I get to say "Thanks, they were my wedding shoes!" :)

Will do nostress! A teenyy part of me is hoping I won't like them as it's a ridiculous amount of money to spend on shoes. But if I love them then I'll keep them! :-8

I had Diane Hassell shoes for my wedding and they were so cute and very comfy. Didn't take them off until around 1 in the morning. In them all day. I wore them they day after too and i'll probably wear them again. Worth the money to me but I do love a good pair of shoes

They are stunning and sure it's the one time in your life that you should be wearing everything you adore. If you can afford it then I don't see why not. Well wear and enjoy them. I'm hoping I will wear mine again. They weren't that expensive as I bought them off another Wollie who bought a second pair and didn't want her first lost but I would have paid the same as you if I'd had to buy them in the shop. I'm never the most practical when it comes to something I want though. I'll find somewhere else to save!!

I spent a good bit (about 400euro!) on my shoes but I loved them and I've worn them many times since and will again. I just can't wear cheap or non leather shoes, they hurt my feet too much and I've learned my lesson over the years and only buy all leather shoes. I found mine so comfy on the day and only took them off at about 1am when I was tired from dancing all night. If you love them and aren't over extending yourself, enjoy them!

Totally agree. I'm refusing to buy any shoes that arent leather anymore. More trouble than they're worth.

Hi,

Just thought I'd let you know how it turned out with the shoes. After a bit of a delay in picking them up from the shop (that's another post!) they were too big!

I'm a small size 3, 3 is the smallest size the shoe come in and they were swimming on me!

So glad I ordered them. I would have wondered "what if" about them if I hadn't taken the plunge!

So I'm still on the hunt for shoes. Went for another look around the high street yesterday and saw a pair in Debenhams that are pretty but they didn't have a 3 so I've ordered a 3 and hopefully they will fit and I'll like them on... they are cheap as chips compared to the DH ones. I just need to find a pair I like and that fit! At this stage willing to pay whatever! :-8

Nostress - the Diane Hassell/Fairytale shoes were lovely but I have to say they look a little bit nicer in the pictures than in reality, and the sizing does seem to be on the big size... HTH
