How many years is your mortgage over, Ours was over 25 and we now have 22 years left and i was just wondering what the average is!

because my fiance and I are both only 21 our mortgage is over 35 years.

Got ours over 30 years and going for second house now and will probably put it out over the 30 years again. We might as well have money left over to enjoy ourselves.

Mine was a 25 year mortgage - I paid off a lump sum and now only have 11 years left (I think!)

We have 22 years left on ours. We originally got a 30 year mortgage, and after 3 years moved mortgage, and were able to knock 5 years off. We have another house that is rented out which is over 25 years.

Lucky you Babyboo, well done being mortgage free..... whats the secret!!!

God girls, you're all so lucky. Ours is over 25 years and we have 23 1/2 years left to pay! Thinking of buying a second house or h2b is thinking of setting up his own business after wedding so looks like we'll be re-mortgaging!

Omg! Fair play to you Babyboo... Mind you I can't even imagine buying a house at 17...I was only starting college then and had a lot of footloose carefree years ahead of me!
Bought our place last year and have quite a few years left to go but sure that's life. No regrets.

Only 27 years to go at the moment, but it could go back up to 30 on our own house, and 25 on our investment shortly!

19 years left, so I will be 45 when mortgage is paid off. Went for a 20 year mortgage as I don't want to be stuck paying it when i am nearing retirement and please God kids will need college funds so if house is paid for the money can be put to other uses.

Oh my God, we have just had an offer accepted. Our first house so yes we now have 30 years to pay! Wish I had been wiser and boought years ago....

30 years for us but then again I'm only 26 so I'll still be young(ish) when we have it cleared! Or maybe I might win the lotto and clear it! 8) :lol:

22 years left for us but started at 25.

Hopefully, going to be making over-payments from February on so can reduce it a bit !
