Are there any Druids Glen Resort Brides on here getting married in 2012? I know its still a bit off but Im excited and everyone keeps saying how its going to fly in

Hey!!!

I am getting hitched there in 2012 too!! Really happy with it!
Trying to make a few days of it after the wedding itself, but strugglin for ideas on what to do the next day down there that doesnt involve golf!!

Hi!! I'm getting married there too I reckon its going to fly in!! We're doing a bbq in the hotel the next day, out on the decking overloooking the gardens, hopefully the weather will be good to us!!!

hi ladies! i see that you are all getting married in druids glen!! You will love it! i got married there last year and it was the best day ever!! it took me ages to find anyone who was getting married there or had been married there. so i hope this can be of some help!!

You looked beautiful! Thanks for posting the vid! When I saw the room in Druids done up before a wedding I taught the dance floor may be abit small, did you find this at all? Was there any disruption after the mean to move tables/top table to make more room for the dance floor

hey. we had 90 at our wedding. we had an oval top table of 10. and then ten other tables in the room. we had the kids table done up and they ate at 5 but i told them to leave the table in the room. bulked it out a bit.

the dance floor was quite big, and we had no tables on it. only the cake table. so there was no disruption. i have been at weddings where the tables are moved for dancefloor and there is never much trouble, they are good at it, the waiters.

how many are you having at your wedding?

Im delighted to see some other people getting married in Druids Glen. I am getting married there in June 2011 but thought id post since I dont know and havent found anyone who has booked to get married there at all until this thread. Im so excited and since they have done up the room and put the bar into it I cant wait. We are also having a civil ceremony onsite there.

Private dancer did you get married around the end of August, I think we visited the hotel the day they were setting up for you wedding to see the room layout as we are having about 90 too and I was afraid the room would look empty. After we saw the room done out for your wedding we booked it immediatly it just felt so right.

yeah we did. the room is absolutely fine with those numbers, it is lovely to have the feeling of a bit of space around the room!
just had a look at the website and the room looks fab, was a little bugbear of mine that the bar was outside but with it in the room now, it is perfect!!

our top table worked well too, it was oval and we had ppl on our table facing us so it wasnt a big long table. worked for us anyway!

all you Druids glen brides are going to have the best day ever there!! Great choice of venue!!

Do you mind me asking where you got your flowers or what exactly was in your bouquet? I'm having purple BM's dresses and that's exactly what I'm looking for as my flowers,
Just wondering if you used someone local as I'm getting married in Wicklow in August..

my best friend (bridesmaid) mom did the bridal party flowers. i got the flowers online at www.flowers4florists.com and then she did them for me.
i have avalanche and Akito roses in mine, one is small head rose and other is large head rose. the Purple is Purple Lisianthus. AKA Eustoma

i used the Eustoma G mariachi blue.
the bridesmaids had small head roses, purple lisi and then lilac freesia.

all buttonholes were roses except groom who had rose and lisi.
corsage for MIL was lisi and freesia if i remember correctly.
the freesia was blue moon

i used a lady in Kilcoole for the church flowers, she really did a great job and was reasonable. not sure if she does bouquets etc. Lovely woman to deal with. Bluebell florists. she doesnt have a shop. i think she works from home. I never met her! just spoke on the phone. she did church flowers and they were lovely.

Thanks for all the tips! We're having about 140/150 and have only seen the room while it's been empty, so hard to get an idea on whether the dance floor is small or not! Great to see and hear all your feedback!

I just found this thread now and am sooo excited. It's great that there are fellow Druid's Glen brides here to compare notes with.

We haven't officially booked but have a provisional booking and are meeting Nessa this weekend. So unless it all goes horribly wrong we will be signing our contract soon.

We're getting married this day next year! I can't believe it. We looked at the hotel last year but I was out of work so had to wait until recently to get planning.

How exciting there is loads of us getting married in Druids Glen I totally love it there! Its amazing! You should keep an eye out for deals and do a night there we stayed there recently and did dinner and spa treatments god the place was something else loved every second of it! Even lunch there is amazing!

So far I just have the Venue and church booked and a few other bits that people are going to do for me (hopefully)

Has anyone tried working with them on the price as they say its our market out there I am also really interested in getting a bit of a deal on corkage!

I think the ballroom is amazing now I was a bit worried that there was no bar in the room and had the concern that they might spend the night out at the bar etc but that concern is completly gone now!
