Christmas 2012 Brides? :)

Christmas 2012 Brides? :)

Postby mrsbops » Wed Feb 01, 2022 2:57 pm

Hi!

Just checking if there are any Christmas 2012 brides out there??

Looking advice on a few things.....I'm thinking of going with ?? bridesmaids, what type of flowers / colours would you put with navy for Christmas?

Also, do you normally colour co-ordinate your invitations with your colour theme? Making my own invites so just wondered if I should go with colour or plain.

Thanks! :wv

Hi :wv I'm getting married in December 1st.
I'm making my own invitations too & also haven't chosen the BMs colours yet. I was thinking royal blue, green or purple. Once I get the colours chosen I will incorporate this into the invites.
I think I'm going with a brooch bouquet, i think I'm having red roses & ivy on my tables.

I think cream is lovely with navy, add some pearls to the flowers & it will look gorgeous.

Another Christmas bride here!!

I'm going with navy for the girls too! I'm going with ivory roses with lots of greenery like spruce and eucalyptus leaves. There'll be accents of holly berries and pine cones too. I personally didn't want to with red-wanted to go more winter-ish rather then Christmassy!

Something like this but with all ivory:

I'm going to get them Ivory fur shrugs too and a diamond drop earring.

Our invites are Ivory with a navy square in the centre and an ivory square on top of that with the details written in navy and silver.

I LOVE wedding planning!!!

That's great mrsbops, there are a few December 1st brides to be on here. I love the sound of your brooch bouquet, where did you see it? I'm thinking of making mine. I'm also pricing up making my own invitations too. We are getting married in the Lord Bagenal in Leighlinbridge. How about you?

I saw the bouquet with the lady who does the room decor, I have a pic on my phone I'll see if I can upload it and show you.

Where have you looked for invites? I found http://www.cardsandpockets.com very good, prices are excellent, just need to get into creative mode now :hyper:

I was thinking purple as well for the bridesmaids, but saw lovely navy dresses so going to go with them instead.

I'm loving wedding planning so it's probably not that I'm organised and more that I'm obsessed!!
I thought about making my invites too but was at the Silversprings wedding show a few weeks ago and met a great woman there! Her company is Amanda Designs and she's based in Galway. We ordered the invites from her on Sunday and she had the samples to us by Friday! I love them!!!! They're a little bit more expensive than I originally planned but include the RSVP and info for guests. If you google her, her website comes up but it's quite old. You could ring her and tell her what you have in mind and she'd probably be able to give you a quote.

Lets keep this thread alive and kicking so we can plan together!

Black is gorgeous at Christmas, had a friend who had black BM dresses 2 Christmases ago, she had a slim, black ribbon around the waist of her dress, so pretty!!

BM can be tricky was going to asked some friends instead but I think it's a little easier to keep sisters onside, just from reading some of the BM posts on here!!

We might be sending our invites out early Sept.

Going looking at more dresses on Sat, v excited!!! :o)ll :o)ll

Mrsbops what kind of dress are you hoping to go for? I like the "princess" shape. I'm going again Saturday week by myself! I know myself what I like! 2 of my BNs live in Ireland & so do my family so can't really bring anyone else. I was thinking the same thing about the ribbon, looks beautiful. I got some more teacups & saucers today, alot more to buy though! Still thinking of a brooch bouquet too.

Just booked my pre marriage course, so something else of the list! Want to get cars sorted but the prices we are getting are RIDICULOUS!!! It's a short trip from church to venue, last quote was for 650 stg!!!

Have you been to many bridal shops Soon2be? I'll have been to 4 by next weekend, then time to choose!! :eek

Another Christmas 2012 bride here! December 29th.
It certainly is a dilemma trying to decide who to ask as a BM. Am having 2 family members & a friend, though i often feel guilty that i have singled out this one friend (even though she has been my closest one down through the years).
It's a long story but my OH & i should've been getting married this Christmas just gone, but everything had to be postponed at the last minute, so we decided to push back to the same time next (this) year. so i don't really have anything left to do apart from the invitations again. will probably send them out by beginning of October with RSVP date of 1st December.
just wish i could go dress shopping again!!!!!
My BM dresses are purple which is quite unoriginal, i know, however, it was the colour that looked best on all of them.
will be having vibrant colour flowers -reds, magenta, berries etc and white orchids for my own.
got fur wraps online, & brollies in penneys, just in case! also got lanterns for church on sale in penneys last october. need to re-book cake, car & church singer.

mrsbops - that's an extortionate price for a car!! do you know anyone with a nice car who'd be willing to oblige on the day? might save you a few quid.

I have only been to 2 bridal shops, going to another next week & hope to find the dress of my dreams there!
I also have 3 BMs, 1 family, 1 family to be & my best friend. Still haven't decided on their colours but I like your ideas flor.
Looking into church singers, totally forgot to budget their cost in!
We are just going to give our car a good wash, stick a ribbon on it, take out the baby seat & hope our best man will drive us! Def not paying for cars!
