New or old perfume?

New or old perfume?

Postby drummerswife2b » Mon Apr 30, 2022 7:14 am

I know there has been a few perfume topics recently which has got me thinking about my perfume. I went looking yesterday and couldn't find any that I went wow I love that. I had also decided to get h2b D&G the one as I liked the name and on testing it, it smelled yummy.

So Went home and mentioned it to h2b and he declared that he wanted to use his old faithful Joop as it has already so many memories (it was the first aftershave I bought him and he has used it for the last 10 years) that he wants to add the wedding as another memory too it, which made sense to me too.

So now I don't know what to do :o( do I get a new one or stick with an old one and even wouldn't have a clue what old one to use (My faves are - Thierry muglers Angel, Chanel chance, SJP NYC, Paris hiltons cancan (don't laugh i got it as a gift but it's lovely))

Some advice would be helpful please. Or even some recommendations if you like the same perfumes as me. Is there a website that you can type in your fave perfume and it tells you others you might like.

on a side note if your the girl who posted about your unusual headpiece there is a bride in the real wedding sections has the same shaped piece turned sideways at the back of her hair and it looks great have a look.

Personally I'm going with old! I love my signature scent as does oh and as smell is so evocative I love the idea of sticking with my usual one!

As a recommendation though, I use Issy Miyake Eau due Toilette and I adore it! The men's one is Fab too!!!

I am sticking with my favourite – Flowerbomb. Have only had 1 bottle of it before and OH bought me one for Christmas that I haven’t opened yet so saving it for the big day. My SIL bought me the body lotion as a present for my hen aswell. I love it and wouldn’t think of having anything else!

drummerswife2b my OH loves Joop aswell and I love it on him but just felt like I wanted something a bit more special for our wedding day so have bought him D&G The One aswell, its fab love it! so we definitely have the same taste in guys smells!!

Haha def morningsun, that's how I feel too about the Joop. Think I might just go ahead and buy him the one, if he really doesn't want to wear it he doesn't have to.

I think I'll try that flowerbomb out as it seems I have the same tastes as both yourself and me Julie. Plus I like the name :o0 I'll try that one and cliniques happy and if I don't like them I'll get a new bottle of angel. That's it done and dusted.

I'm trying to decide this too!
Flowerbomb is the only perfume OH has ever bought me so I though it would be a nice one to wear. Only thing is that is doesn't really last well. Plus point is though that they have loads of little extras in the scent....like body lotion, body sprays and they even have a hair spritz of it!! All will help it to last longer and might be nice treats for the day!

I think I will stick with an old perfume - not that old really, only bought it before christmas in Boston. Its Jessica Simpson's Fancy Love. I bought her Fancy Frangrance the year before & its equally as nice. Everyone keeps asking me what perfume I wear, but I never can smell if from myself.

He will be wearing Armani Code. It was the first aftershave I bought him & he really likes it.

I used a new one and I'm glad I did. Everytime I wear that perfume now it reminds me of getting ready for our wedding and himself loves it. I got Nina Ricci Elixir and I love it. Only problem is...almost 1 year later, it's almost gone!
