Nice box of matches?

Hi girls, do any of you know where I would buy a pretty box of matches to light candles with during ceremony (don't want box of yellow cara matches or the like). Thanks!

Why don't you get a normal box of matches and put wedding wrapping paper over them?

If its for a church cermony, there is no need for matches, the alter candle will be lit already, and the preist will use that to light the stick for you's to light the unity candle (i almost sure of this anyway)

otherwise the wrapping paper is a good idea

No, it's for a civil ceremony. I'll just stick some paper on as suggested I think!

Or could you have somebody light a separate candle to light your candles off on the table just so ye don't have to strike matches or get one of those gas clicky lighters used for oven hobs (does that make sense).

If not the wrapping paper is a good idea just make sure you don't cover the striking panel

Just edited to add we had candelabras on the registrars table if ye are doing this then just light candles off them (My brain is on go slow and only remembered)

I'm also having a civil ceremony and I got a lovely box of extra long matches in a box with flowers on it for 99c in Aldi on Sunday :o)ll

Was going to ask about this aswell, is the middle one not lit already then we lift/use the taper candles, lite them off the middle one an put back on the stand?? maybe im wrong, have only been to a handful of weddings, but dont think i saw any of them with matches :-8

As far as I remember you light the two single ones first as a symbol of your individuality and then both light the unity candle as a symbol of your marraige. Mine will be on a stand in a flower arrangement so I won't be lighting them off each other. I hadn't thought about the lighting of the candle until I saw this post!

Yes those matches are nice CB2012, am thinking now that will get them alright, although it's probably a good idea to have a candle lit somewhere in advance to avoid the fumbling around!

We didn't end up needing the matches in the end. The hotel had candles set up with two candle sticks for lighting the unity candle, your hotel will probably do the same we never even asked for it
