What was the worse thing someone done at your wedding?

Hmm other peoples weddings where to start?. One of the first weddings I ever went to in my teens, during the speeches the best man ( who obviously had it planed with his best mate the groom) decided that it was the best idea in the world to propose to his girlfriend there and then. He brought the poor girl onto the middle of the dance floor got down on 1 knee and popped the question with a massive sparkler and bouquet of flowers. The champagne toast after the speeches ended up being dedicated to the newly engaged couple. The bride was disgusted. I thought it was funny at the time but once I got engaged myself I realised how awful it must have been on the poor bride. Actually I think I heard after the groom told him to invite all their family to the afters to celebrate the happy news so that makes 2 nonos. Proposing and inviting strangers to other peoples wedding.

No way, and the staff just let him? That is insane. Actually bonkers. Want was he going to use them for - apart from seducing the other blade.

Some of these stories are mental, making me feel better about my own wedding!

I really hope the rest of the day was amazing for you and made up for it :heartbeat:

Oh it was inexcusable and it still makes me so angry to this day, and to think that any other bride could be subjected to this unprofessional behaviour really maddens me.

Thank god, it was the only thing that was bad about the day. The hotel was fabulous, and thank god all the guests behaved themselves.
Trouble is there is no where to complain about this woman. She works by herself and does wedding hair exclusively. Where could I complain ?? There is no way I would go back to herself, I would cross the road to avoid her.

I know you cannot name on here but word of mouth can be very effective, I know as a bride, I took people's experiences with suppliers very seriously. Glad the rest if your day was as special as it should have been.

A friend of mine was telling me about her mothers wedding which immediately made me thought of this thread!

The dressmaker messed up her dress and couldn't get it perfect in time, Their church singer was late and missed the first song, the hotel put out cellophane on the red carpet to protect it from rain and nobody could walk on it, when the photographer was taking pictures of the couple with the wedding car the chauffeur had left his newspaper open and the doors and their photos have the paper pages blowing in the car, the chauffeur drove off with their things in the car, two couples brought uninvited children who spent most of the reception crawling around the floor while their parents got trashed. Amazingly she said she didn't notice all this on the day and it was only recounting this 30 years later to my friend that she realised it seemed like a bit of a mess!

A friend of mine flew across the world to be at my wedding then got so plastered that she heckled during the speeches, could barely speak, burning the ear of my mother and my cousins for ages and wasn't even making sense, fell over in front of my tee total FIL and MIL. Broke a glass in the residents bar so they closed the bar (so that was a waste of €500 that we paid for the extension!)

Randomer decides she is going to write a stupid poem and read it out at speeches, I was trying to keep them short and sweet but anyway. She cant even be found when speeches are starting so delays things even more. The poem is all about the children in DH's family, which was a total dig at us for not inviting kids. Plus some of my distant relatives thought the poem must be about our kids and wondered why we would try to conceal that we had children outside marriage and not invite them to the wedding. WTF! We dont have kids and if we did we would not hide them!!!!

Still a great day though!

Don't be - on the day all problems are just water off a duck's back. You'll be so delighted and have such a big smile on your face that you'll recognise that idiots will always be idiots but the most important thing is that you marry the love of your life and after that NOTHING else matters!
