New Years Eve Weddings

Hello Everyone!

I just registered today, not long to go until my NYE wedding!

Would love to hear from those of you who are planning on ringing in the New Year on your Wedding Day too. Anything special planned?

Unfortunately our venue can't do anything to do with lights in the sky so that rules out fireworks and lanterns. I'm hoping to just really crank up the atmosphere around midnight.

But if you have any fun/creative little touches I'd love your thoughts.

Congrads, I'm your NYE Twin...

We are the same, not allowed Fireworks or lanterns either. I doubt there is going to be a need for something major at 12 as The band will rock the place with a countdown, you could always have a balloon drop?

Was at a wedding on NYE and they had a balloon drop - coloured themed and monogrammed...was really amazing at 12 :compress

I'd love to know how much the balloon drop cost, we priced fireworks and they were €1500 for 10 minutes :eek we're just getting the hotel to bring out glasses of champagne at 12 and ringing in the new year, it's getting close now :o)ll

Yeah, its so exciting, all the guests are really excited too.

I think you're right about the band building up the atmosphere.

My h2b is totally against a balloon drop cause he says everyone will just see it hanging from the ceiling all night anyway (our room has a very low ceiling!!!)- I personally would love it though! I looked into it and its only e100-200 so maybe...!!!

Are any of ye doing black tie? Have ye gone for anything particularly glitzy in your own dress or with the bridesmaids? I'm still on a bridesmaids dress hunt!!!

yeah I thought of the balloons on view also and they added expense I just thought by that stage everyone will be in flying form to notice.

I got my bridesmaid dresses last Christmas in the sales, it was grand getting them in early. Are you stuck on a certain colour or just havent found the one?

Were not having Black Tie but I know my Mother is going forlong evening gown rather than the typical Wedding outfit for Mother of the bride.

There is plenty of chat about the wedding now, Stags and Hens are next and then its the final run in to the big day... 102 Days and counting down quickly!! :o)ll
