what foundation will you wear?

Hi ladies,

trying to find a foundation for wedding at the moment,

what are you all planning to wear? any dos and donts when choosing one?

My MUA went with Mac in the end but at the make up trial she trialed a few different types to figure what suited me best. I totally trusted my MUA so I think that is key. I'm not a big make up person so trusted her expertise!!

I wore Estee Lauder Double wear and it stayed on all day....are you doing your own make up? I got double wear after reading loads of reviews on http://www.makeupalley.com/ as I didn't like the one a make up artist I did a class with had recommended.

I had estee lauder double wear too- it didnt budge even after the tears saying my vows!

I'm using chantecaille future skin with the matching primer. Its angelina jolies foundation. Feels really light but gives a perfect flawless healthy look. Love it!

Hi EveT,
I might be going with MAC Face & Body foundation. I say 'might' because I had a trial with it & took pictures afterwards, and I wasn't sure about the colour (it might have oxidised i.e. gone darker with wear). So might go for another trial, or get it done for a night out, just to be sure. It is only available to buy from the MAC counter in Dublin. Normally, I like to use Bobbi Brown or indeed, good ole Double Wear. I've heard, though, that long wear foundations tend to be very drying on dry skin, so, it might be something to note if your skin is dry.

If you have oily or combination skin, a primer underneath your foundation is an absolute must for making your makeup stay perfect looking all day. It acts as a barrier between your skin and the makeup, preventing sweat, oil etc from dissolving/creasing our foundation/blusher/eyeshadow. There are lots of diff. brands, No7 do a good one. TooFaced have a really great eye primer called Shadow Insurance.

My only real advice would be that it is a matter of trial and error, which isn't really advice, as such! What foundation do you currently use, if any? If you're a total newbie, the best advice, I think, would be to pay a visit to a couple of makeup counters at Debenhams or BTs or Arnotts, tell them what you're looking for and ask for a sample. The MUAs will be able to advise you on what suits your skin. Some brands suit some people better than others, so trying before you buy is really the best way to find out!

I wore Lancome Teint Miracle (what I usually wear)
My MUA had Mac and Bobbi Brown but I preferred to go with what I was used to and what I knew suited me. Talk to your MUA and see what they suggest :wv
