M&S wedding cake

Is it possible to order these here in Ireland and has anybody done so. The look so elegant and simple. Any experience of these cakes?? :heartbeat:

Think there are a lot of people going for the M&S cakes now. They do look very nice and if they tasted disgusting I wouldn't really care anyway :o0

I'm getting married abroad and I'm hoping to bring a layer over, just need to find someone to take it! As it needs to be carried on as hand luggage!

I think that only the fruit cake is available in Ireland but you can order the chocolate and other floavours in the north if someone can go and pick it up for you.

I have had a look at the M& S cakes available in the North and they are lovely, but they are very simple and I cant imagine it can be much cheaper considering exchange rate plus collection plus hassle of delivering and setting it up yourself. Simple cakes like that shouldnt cost any more than that anywhere. They are not that big, none of the bottom tiers seem to be more than 10" . I was looking at the fruit ones yesterday in a local M&S and they seem very low cakes, I would like to see a lot more height in a wedding cake.

We had an M&S cake & it was gorgeous. We went for the 3 different flavours & decorated with ribbon. We ordered it in Newry & collected it a few days before the wedding. For the size of the cakes that we got it worked out alot cheaper we had priced a few bakers & they were varying in price from €350-€500 :eek . There was also an offer on when we bought the cake so got it even cheaper I think it was 3 for 2 or something like that, so if you keep an eye on there web site you can pay for your cakes in advance & get the offer :o)ll :o)ll
