What canapes/bites do you love ?

So picture a summer wedding with a big gap between ceremony and meal, plenty of cava and beer but what canape would you crave?

I'm leaning towards substantial Jamie Oliver style ones e.g. bruchetta. Oh and they need to be easy enough to assemble cos catering team will be under pressue in a smallish kitchen. Would love to hear your ideas! :thnk

The bruchetta sounds yummy. If you would like something sweet, we had scones with clotted cream and jam at a wedding last summer and they were gorgeous...and the queue for them was huge and of every age group. Hth

Bruchetta sounds amazing, but you can't go wrong with sandwiches.

I've been to a few weddings and sambos (nice ones mind) are the way to go. I was at a wedding a while ago and they had open smoked salmon on brown bread, and a cool mini bite club sambo. Toast, turkey, cheese, tomato and bacon on a cocktail stick. They were gone in a flash, everyone loved them.

Might be a bit pricey though, will be thinking along the same lines as your self for substantial nibbles.

A big selection of plain, mixed, veggie and open sambos, keeps everyone happy I think!

Bruchetta is lovely and also filling. I like little tartlets and also chicken skewers!

i'd like an option of canapés that don't include anything bread based especially ahead of a big feast! just want something to tie you over...like prawns or chicken on a stick or even cheese. they wouldn't have to be warm either so could be prepped in advance.

Salmon Pate on brown bread would be lovely. and salmon on brown bread.
Cheese with grapes on cocktail sticks
Maybe Feta cheese,olive and cherry tomatoes on cocktail sticks!

Mini goat cheese and carmelized onion tartlet
Shrimp on a garlic crostini
Chicken Satay
