Dream Wedding Muckross Park Fri 3rd June 2011

Postby g4aJune11 » Thu Nov 24, 2021 7:40 pm

Well i finally have decided to post mine. Thanks for all the help ladies with the plans, ideas and touches

Finished work on the Wed and was so happy. (glad i didnt take the full week, i reckon i would have been trying to find work to do..) Nails, tanning, waxing and all that lark was done that day and on the Thur. Left himself afternoon and it was v emotional knowing next time i would see him would be at the top of the alter. My sister and travelled down to the hotel that afternoon. (My other sisters and bridesmaids and family met us down there)

Greeted with lovely hot towels from the spa when we checked into hotel. We stayed for 3 nights. Had a quick chat with Karen (wedding co-ordinator) and started unpacking the guna and the rest. We had a lovely relaxed evening and had a few drinks in the bar.Was in bed for mid-night, the 6 of shared a suite,so much fun, gave the girls their bags with goodies and dressing gowns for the next day and they were chuffed with them (another idea from the wollies)

Woke up at 6:30 and was as giddy with excitement. Me and littlest sister went for a walk around the hotel, it was so beautiful sun shining and then got into our robes and downstairs for brekkie. Hairdressers and make up artist arrived (Dawn Ryan, 1 of myfavourite suppliers on the day) and the transformations started. We were drinking sparkling wine while getting ready, reallly calmed the nerves.
Photographer, Evelyn Woodard(AMAZING) arrived at 12:30 and started taking shots of us getting ready.

Got into the dress and then Dad came upstairs, poor man was speechless when he saw me (not into wearing make up and getting the hair done).. l :lvs :lvs ove him to bits.

My sis arranged a surprise car for me and dad (cool cadillac car, 1 of the girls who got married day b4 me had him as well, honking whole way to church,me like a mad woman out the window with my bouquet on the way into Killarney. Dad welled up and i didnt, couldnt believe it.

Got to the church and we breezed up the aisle, i didnt hear any of the church music, just beaming and waving at everyone.Cathedral was amazing. Sun splitting the stones outside and pouring into the church, beautiful.

Met himself at the top (had him warned not to look down at me walking up as i would have started welling up. He didnt) and we kissed and that was the start of the church. Loved the ceremony. Lots of tourists in the church taking pics of us as well, shur why not..

We went for pics across the road and then up to some areas in the townthe photographers had chosen. There was a big bike fest that wkd and town was full of dudes in their leathers and bikes, really wanted to stop the car and get a pic but himself mentioned i was wearing a white dress and it may not end up white after.. ..I dunno how our driver didnt break his horn the amount it was going off on the way from pics to the hotel.

Was met by the manager with a glass of champers and mingled for a while then went to top-up the lippy (and sneaky ciggie) and we had the speeches. Had them outside cos of the gorgeous day and b4 the meal, wanted the dads to be able to enjoy the meal and knowing speeches were done would have been more relaxed we felt. Everyone outside enjoying their day, loved it I hadnt planned to say a speech but i just decided to at last minute. My tears started tho at gray's speech, it was so sweet.

Had a fab meal (for the bit i ate) am sure ye knowyourselves ye were all too excited to eat a load. The dancing began. Our 1st dance was Van Morrison "someone like you". Band and DJ finished up and went to the residents bar where the guitar and singsong started. Went to bed at 4 and himself went back down to the guests, i was so conked tho at that stage.

Amazing day had and everyone involved was so amazing.
