Lyrath Estate September 2011

Lyrath Estate September 2011

Postby chrissyfromthegrove » Sat Dec 31, 2021 7:48 pm

I got married there in Sept 2011 - it was BEYOND AMAZING
we had 190 guests we used 2 functin rooms with a fairylight backdrop behind the top table and one behind the band
we were going to have a mobile bar but decided against it on the wedding co-ordinators advice - which proved to be great advice.
we went with the normal candleabra centrepieces and small floating flowers on tables
i bought some pink candles in pink glass in penneys and had about 20 of them on the walkway to the function rooms
i did baskets of toiletries in each pf the bathrooms with buckets of flip flops for the girls
i did a candy table at the bottom of the room to the left of the stage - which was an amazing hit with the guests
i had cameras for tables and donated money to charity instead of doing favours
i left the room layout to the wedding co-ordinator Dervla she was fab
the florist took all the flowers from the church and set them up arouns the room - they looked amazing...
i also put lovely photographs of my parents cutting their wedding cake and my husbands parents cutting their wedding cake on each side of our wedding cake - it looked amazing in our pictures PM me if you have questions or want to see some pics - they did the top table amazingly....

Delighted to hear you had a great day, I am booked for there for July 2013, though it's ages away, I am already thinking of the little things! I was thinking the same about the little candles on the walkway, they would be lovely! :xxx

Hi Chrissyfromthegrove,

I too have my wedding booked In Lyrath for June next year. We were thinking of having the mobile bar set up in the room and am just wondering why you didnt go ahead with it in the end. My biggest fear is to have an empy room and the majority of people around the bar! :eek

I am also thinking of the Lyrath! Just conscious of the price of the packages at the moment and the price of the rooms for our guests as we really want a 2 day affair! if anyone has any feedback would they mind sending it on to me? or if they had any joy bargaining on different pieces. Much appreciated, thank you x

I have lots of pics from the day inside the room, if you want to PM me - i dont think i can post photos here.
We went against the mobile bar because we were told that it would be open enough with the big dorrs open - which it was - some people did congregate around the bar - but mainly on the dancefloor inside so it was all good - make sure you have a good band/dj all will be good! Ours was excellent - Irish Wedding DJ - everyone commented how fab he was.
We had our second day in the left bank with a pig on a spit - was great and very reasonable - think 600 eur for pig salads baked potatoes etc.
