we got married in the guild hall in derry and our reception was in the station house hotel letterkenny, our wedding is the last wedding to be held in the guild hall, they are getting alot of work done to the stones and the inside so after we were married there the doors closed and wont be opened again for a yr and half, there was a stage during the planning that they thought they might not be able to marry us but thank god it worked out,you will see in some of the pictures all the boards covering the building and that is why we dident get any of the outside of the building...
i felt a bit like ross and emily from friends when they got married in that little falling down chapal, not when he said rachel

we had a wonderful day from start to finish,i will to try to keep it short

we left kerry to head home to donegal on the 23rd,closing the front door behind me i started to panic that i had forgotten something and i just stood at the car door for about 5 mins going through everything in my head,my Husband (feels strange) manage to calm me and get me in the car-so we set off and it was the longest journey we have ever done,my dress was in the back and i was terrified something was going to happen to it,i had visions that my tan would explode, seep through my suitcase and go on my dress as luck would have it, nothing that dramatic happened, but i did have a sore neck when we finally got home from all the looking around i did!
christmas came and went i dont think any of us really bothered this year, we just went through the motions, wishing the time away to get to the wedding...
day before
i stayed in a different hotel to the one where the wedding was being held, its a long story so i wont go into it,but it did make my life a wee bit harder as i had to pack 2 bags,
got checked into the hotel, found out i couldnet set up the sweet table in the wedding venue till after 10 because the room was being used so myself and mum heading to a spa for a bit of relaxation,i was wound up at this stage and really dident want to go but i was glad i did once i was there...went back to the hotel to do nails and tan,and had to get dressed again to go do the table, when i got there i noticed that my martini glass had been replaced with another tall glass-my brother had broken the martini glass when he was taking the sweets down,i could have cried i dident go mad or anything but i was so disappointed and i just needed a few minutes to come to terms with it

so got the table set up,and the signing frame and the flip flop baskets and looked at the clock it was 12.30 went back to the hotel and cleaned up the room a bit(stuff everywhere) finally went to bed at 2.30 my sister stayed with me and both of us just knocked out the minute we hit the pillow!
THE WEDDING DAY
woke up at 9, wasent nervous but was feeling anxious, went down for breakfast and started getting ready at 10.30,i was doing the hair and makeup for myself and sister, so once i had her done i could consentrate on me, i was worrying that if i started to panic i would not be able to do myself ,so i turned on the telly and charlie and the chocolate factory was on that kind of setteled me a bit, everything was going great i was nearly done just had my lashes to do last, my other sister arrived and i did her makeup, and i couldent believe how easy everything was going, really calm..so calm in fact, that my sister asked me if i was ok,that i was very quiet and i was freaking her out!
a knock came to the door it was flowers and a card from my H2B and a bottle of champagne,i got a wee bit shaky then but pulled myself toghether and went to put on my lashes and one wouldent stick, well i nearly had a heart attack,i totally freaked,my sisters dident say a word,i think they were afriad too, they poured me a glass of champers and i sat for a few minutes to calm myself(over a false lash

finally got the demon lash to stay, then mum, brother, dad, flower girls, pageboy and photographer arrived and it was time to get dressed, had a few pics then it was time to go,we left just after 3pm wedding was at 4pm,its about a 25min drive away,to the guild hall in derry,i dont know what we were thinking,so i was very early for my wedding, when we got there we were told to go around in the car again because they were still setting up ,
they being the groom and bestmen putting out the lanterns and bay trees, god love them they couldent get the lights on the trees to work, i waited in the car for maybe 10mins,when i got in some guests were late so they were passing me in the hall and the lady who was marrying us told me to hold on a bit longer to make sure everybody was in,i was dying to get in at this stage, and about 9 guests passed me,i hadent seen the hall but i could see the trees from the entrance and the butterflies started i started to take deep breaths and my dad was trying to fix my veil, god love him he was more nervous than me and he kept bringing my veil around my shoulders like i was making my communion, after his 3rd go at doing that i had to say "DAD,STOP!"

then the music started the BM'S went first and then i was at the door, when i seen the room i was blown away, that actually took my attention for a few seconds and im dying to see the dvd now because i was looking at everything and saying wow omg this is beautiful, next thing i knew i was standing next to my H2B and he had a smile on him from ear to ear,he grabbed my hands and gave me a kiss,he held my hands for nearly the whole ceremony, the lady who married us, commented on this and said it was lovely to see and she was welling up,then H2B nearly started,my cousin said a reading and she started to cry..everyone was crying but me

when it came to h2b's time to say his vows he shouted them,i mean really shouted,"I MR ERRIGAL,TAKE YOU MISS ERRIGAL"he was so loud i started laughing and so did everyone else, when i asked him after why he did it he said he'd been to so many weddings and he never could hear the couple speaking so he wanted to make sure that everyone could hear

the ceremony was about 20 or so minutes long,it was a beautiful ceremony and i felt it was very personal to us and michelle was lovely, after we said i do everyone started clapping it was lovely,i had arranged for sparklers for outside but it was pouring so we only did a few at the entrance, then we drove back to letterkenny and went to the square to get a few pics it was lovely there with all the christmas lights and it was lovely for us because that was where we had our first lunch date 11yrs before

went to the hotel and everyone was enjoying the mulled wine and shortbread and mince pies,we had a buffet dinner and im delighted it all worked out great, everybody really enjoyed it,i wanted to say a speech but after my husband said his i was chocked up and i passed....i do regret that now tho!
our first dance was "you are the best thing" and the second was "when i see you smile"
two beautiful songs but i was sorry we dident practice a dance, we were a bit boring now in fairness, our dance moves were a bit crap

my cousins got us marryoke as a wedding gift, so every so often some people would go missing to go do this,we picked the hills of donegal, everybody knows that one,it was some craic!! they had it edited and played it back to us at the end of the night, every single guest was in it,it was fantastic!
we decided on a dj as our entertainment and im so happy we did,he was brilliant, the floor never emptied all night,he also did a stars in your eyes part where you get your guest involved,2 of my mad aunts were jedward, the funniest thing i ever seen!we also had lady gaga, garth brooks, madonna, queen, and the ymca the whole place was roaring with laughter, for the evening food the hotel were saying that i shouldent do it because people were only finished dinner at 8.30 and the evening food was coming out at 11.30 and it would be a waste, but i wanted something and something that even if you werent hungry youd still eat so i had a massive basket of buttered bread and a massive basket filled with bags of crisps for everyone to help themselves i also had a selection of sandwiches and the cup cakes,it went down a treat, everybody loved the crisps and bread and there wasent a bit left, the dj finished up at 1.45 and we all sat singing till 6am
it was the best day of our lives,my husband was out dancing most of the night he loved every second of it,and he wouldent be a man for dancing but he was just loving it...
so thats it, that was our day and it was amazing to us..im a bit sad its all over now but as my husband has said to me ,its just the beginning for us love!(cheese on toast,i know) but its true!
well girls if your still reading this fair play to ya,i dident think i would do a long report but its nice writing about it
i'll post a link to some pics i know thats the best part of the wedding reports
