I was typing random things into google to find information on weddings in Italy and i found a topic from 3 years ago that made good reading. so i decided to register and set up my own topic to try and get some helpful advice.
Basically, Im very newly engaged
and have dreamed of getting married in Italy since long before i met my Fiancé. Luckily for me, he also fancies the idea of jetting off abroad with a handful of our closest friends and family.....Our party will be around 30-35 people so quite small and we both want a civil ceremony, followed by an Al Fresco meal and reception over looking the Lake! But somewhere that also has a nice indoor room if the weather is bad?! We also don't want to share a venue with another bridal party.
Does anyone have any good suggestions for venues on any of the Lakes?
So far, i have had some good advice from Now and Forever weddings (Phillipa) for Lake Orta. She has suggested a civil ceremony at the Villa Bossi followed by a champagne boat trip for all our guests to a reception atL'Ustaria Ca dal Rat. The reception being around 100 euros per head for wine, champagne, a 5 course meal and a cake! I quite like this idea and the price is good too :o)
Romeo and Juliette weddings have suggested the Villa Cipressi. I love this venue, its soooo beautiful, but at the minute its working out quite expensive at 150 euros per head for the same as above with an additional charge of 2000 euros because my party is to be under 40
also as we won't be taking all the bedrooms we would have to cease entertainment around 10pm. So not ideal. So my questions are:
Can you suggest any good but cheap wedding planners? It seams no matter the size of the wedding most have flat fees. This is ok if its inexpensive but for only 30 people, some are working out more expensive then the reception LOL.
On another thread, someone mentioned a venue on Lake Maggiore that (at the time) charged 100ish Euros per head for a Meal, Champagne, table wine and cake with an additional 20 euros per person for an all inclusive bar???. Unfortunately, the lady never mentioned the name of this venue. I know that price may be higher now, but does anyone know what the name of this venue is? I like the idea of an all inclusive bar for my guests!
Any finally, i'd love some basic advice, supplier suggestions and costings for the usual wedding suppliers, for example; Florist, photographer, hair and makeup ext.....
I know this is a lot to ask, but theres very little information on the internet! You type Weddings in Italy and Weddings on the Italian Lakes into google and ALL you get is wedding planners!
Thank you
