FMIL Cream outfit

Re: FMIL Cream outfit

Don't think this will look odd at all tbh. I don't get this about the cream and white thing at all.

Sorry, I just don't, unless she turns up in full bridal attire. Don't be worrying about the small stuff if I were you. My Mother wore ivory as I did. Hers had some black in it but wouldn't have made a difference.

She was my Mother and didn't look like me. I looked like a Bride and she looked like Mother of the Bride no matter colour she was wearing.

I'm with Littlebo. I really don't get why it matter what colour other's wear. Unless they actually turn up in their wedding dress it's like like anyone's going to be confused.

I assume all my guests will wear light colours, give that it's on the beach. Once they find something they're happy with then it's all good.

Just watched Franc on Craig Doyle tonight ( yes I am that bored!) and he also stated that it is not bad manners to wear white or cream to a wedding. He was asked twice by the woman as she had heard it was and he just said no again and again.

Now, I'm no lover of Franc but interesting that he saw it this way.

In my honest opinion I think the whole cream/ white thing is fine on the older generation. but if some one young came in that it would be annoying it wouldnt bother me on the day but i just think with all the colours available there is no need. so its grand for your fmil no one will notice that. we were at a wedding once were a girl our age did wear a full lenght white dress now there was purple flowers on the bottom but i couldnt help thinking it wasnt the right thing and im pretty sure i wasnt the only one.

I think a lot of mothers end up wearing cream - at weddings I've been to anyway - because it's a colour that tends to work for them!

I would be well pissed to be honest,... I have it flagged that I'm going shopping with her for her MOG outfit, purely becuae I'm having an afternoon tea reception in August, and she's quite likely to turn up in floor length red satin, complete with slit to mid thigh if I don't! She has already said she doesn't want to wear anything "mumsie"... which means appropriate...sigh! She has also changed into the exact same thing as me twice when we went for a visit.... (black jeans, tucked into black boots, and a black top - very colourful I know, but she ALWAYS wears colour and gets in digs that only ever wear monochramatics, so it's curious that twice recently when we've arrived to their house for a visit, she has nipped upstairs to change clothes and ended up in the same thing! ARGH!) So I wouldn't put it past her to wear white/ivory/cream that looks bridal, or traffic-stopping red...fine any other time, but a bit in your face for a summer afternoon wedding!
