'Maids in tights!!!???

Ok, so here's the deal... I'm having an afternoon tea wedding reception in August this year and am just finalising bridesmaid dresses/accessories etc. And what I was thinking was this - because it's afternoon tea, the reception will be elegant and pretty, but semi-casual in that it will be a cocktail-style reception (if it's nice - in the walled rose garden of the venue!), so I've picked eyelet cotton dresses for the girls - in white (controversial I know, but I think they can look really simple and pretty!) -

Would you/could you put tights with them? The weather in this country is soooo unreliable that it could hail, rain, pour, or have the sun split the stones - you just wouldn't know! I think short-ish(knee length or just above) dresses with tights can look really nice, it can add an extra thin layer for the girls if it's chilly but just as easily if we pick sheer/light tights they won't be too warm... anyway, what's the verdict? Yes or no to bms with tights? Both the girls like the idea, and would wear dresses and tights regularly anyway...

If yes, what type of tights do you think would go with white broderie anglaise dress?? I was thinkin nude/flesh tights with a cute cardigan over??

Depending on the type of shoes and colourI think very light coloured/plain tan tights would be fine with them. :)

Do your BM's usually wear tights? I always do, so I would assume I would wear tights with any dress and I wouldn't find anything odd with natural tights with the dress - oh, only exception would be if they are wearing shoes that will show the tights - closed toe shoes tights ok, open toe shoes are ok with open toe tights, but sandals = no tights

Skin coloured tights would be just fine with those dresses. The dresses are absolutely gorgeous by the way. Great choice!

Both of the girls wear tights on a regular basis so I thought that nude ones would be perfectly fine and acceptable!
