Any reports about the new Alli tablets for weight loss??

Anyone tried them or planning on trying them?

I know they have a bad rep for causing "runny stools" if you eat too may foods high in fat.

I've got a good diet and I exercise but I just seem to stay the same weight all the time and can't lose those extra few pounds!!

Anyone tried Alli or any other alternative weight/fat loss tips?

Would you were they the ones that were being discussed on Pat Kenny this morning, if so any idea how much they are?


TTC Since Nov 2009. Me 36. PCOS & Large Fibroid 8cm & Endometriosis.
Clomid 50mg X 6 Cycles, Clomid 100mg/Scans/Trigger Shots X 2 Cycle. BFN X 8.
HSG January 2011 (one tube blocked)
Lap & Dye Dec 2011.Both tubes open/ovarian drilling/slight Endo removed/Lge Fibroid
Feb-May ’12:IUI 4 Attempts all cancelled (poor response) Cycle changed TSI. BFN X 4
All treatment suspended till Endo sorted! May 2012.
21st July:Surgery with Hugh O'Connor for Fibroid & Endo Removal.





Fingers crossed for 2012.

I'd say so. They have just been released without a prescription and have been all over the radio and news since!! I think they work out at 2 euro a day?

They used to be called Xenical when they were on prescription. Basically they stop you absorbing fat from your food, so it passes through your system essentially undigested.

If you take them you are going to be running for the loo with stomach cramps and an URGENT need to pass oily-fatty (and runny) stools, farting oily-fatty stuff, leaking oily-fatty stuff, and generally feeling quite unpleasant and worried about getting caught short! If used for a while you might get a bit of a sore bum too :o(

The problem with them is that nobody can really stick them for too long as you can imagine so they have limited success

can I suggest you call into your local pharmacy that stocks them... they will have had the training...its nowhere near as severe as xenical side effects.!

I had to stop litsening to Ray D'arcy this morning about them, you would swear they were the devil.

you can buy them on ebay for cheaper from england if after you talk to your pharmacist and decide to go with them...

my sis and mother took the xenical before, and thought they were good but the side effects were severe though.
as the other posters said, the runny stools were apparently the worst, and sis said she could nearly SEE the fat running out of her - god forbid she looked in the loo b4 flushing ......eeeeewwwwwww!!!

All the same though, i'd be really interested to see how you alli people get on, cos its not supposd to be as strong as the xenical

There was an advertisement in the paper yesterday (think the herald) and it said 60euro for a months supply. Im skeptical....probably just another gimic!
