Dukan Diet?

Re: Dukan Diet?

Postby errigal08 » Sat Dec 10, 2021 12:43 am

thats sounds fine elle, just remember you can eat as much as you want of the allowed foods,
i found that a bit strange at the start, from all the yrs of being on diets and being restricted to being told to eat eat eat-it was weird.. but i soon copped that if youv got no carbs to fill you, all you have is the meat, when i got that into my head,i was grand and i can quite happily sit down to two steaks, one burger and two eggs and a fried onion for dinner, and the best thing is having no guilt!
i bought the burgers from the butcher and would have them for lunch aswell the days i was at home, when we'd go for a bite to eat on a sunday it would be carvery-so just pile up on the veg-i also made soups, and the dukan bread, but dont have that for another wee while, let yourself get into the diet maybe a month and then do the bread...
i also lived off packets of ham and beef,im not really a chicken fan but its handy for work

thanks for the reply errigal
i found yesterday ok but i had to work last nite (i inspect kitchens to check food hygiene standards) and boy was i hungry coming home-but had a yoghurt and was fine.
But this morning i woke u with an awful headache (like a hangover) but that has gone now since breakfast. I find drinking water the hardest especially in this weather.
Anyway thanks for reply-i need someone to keep me motivated lol
U must be getting excited now with wedding so close-i wish i could do it all over again (especially thee honeymoon) lol but with the same man of course!! :lvs
am going to weigh myself again monday after 3 days attack and will report back :)

Down another pound today, 6 pounds in 5 days :o)ll
I'm drinkin the water with sugar free cordial find it way easier. I'm prob drinking 2 and a half litres a day and well as numerous tea/coffees and one fizzy drink a day. Find I have no craving at all for carbs at the moment which is great! The only problem is I would love some alcohol tonight....

when i started the diet i decided that i would still drink at the weekend, its my treat, and it hasent affected my loss, well maybe i would have got it off faster if i hadent drank, but i was still happy with the results...cant beat a big fire, xfactor and a bottle of wine on a saturday!

Thanks Errigal, but I decided not to drink last night and lost another pound this morning, so thats 7 lbs in 6 days! I had to do 6 days of the attack phase but i'm gonna to do the week cos I don't find it hard at all so one more day left til I can have some veggies.
For my lunch today I had prawns with some curry sauce made with the powder and water, I wonder if thats allowed? It was yummy anyways, made a nice change.
I nearly had a piece of chocolate today but I didn't cave! I wonder where this will power of steel is coming from?! I'm not complaining though :o)ll

So i got up this morning and I was a pound up? As in I put on a pound without even cheating >:o( >:o( >:o( !!!
Anyways very tempted to cheat as i'm a bit disheartened, but I won't. Its not TOM for another 10days and I not constipated either :-8
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

dont be disheartened nora,if you havent cheated then you'll be grand, did you weigh yourself at the same time you normally do?
did you have veg?
after a day of veg you can put on weight but after a few days it evens itself out,
if your craving choc,i found that by mixing some powdered milk, coco and a wee bit of skim milk great, keeps the craving at bay

No today is my last day of attack. I did take a strong painkiller yesterday so I wonder was that it? Anyways not feeling the best today and wasn't hungry all day. Then all of a sudden I got unbearably hungry and had a choc biscuit O:| oopss!
I'm hoping one cheat won't make a massive difference :duh:
Thanks for the tip on the hot chocolate might have one now O-O

quick update-have just started day 7 of attack and i`m still only 4lb down so bit disappointed really. O:|
i have been sticking to it but i know im not drinking enough water and am constipated. :-8 could that be it? also had actimels the lact 2 days instead of fat free yoghrt as i was all i had.
i also have terrible sores on my tongue? >:o( so not very pleased about that-am going to start on a vitamin tablet today-maybe i`m lacking something. At least i`m onto cruise tomorro but have my xmas party so will be as good as i can-any tips?
not a big drinker and have sick baby at the moment so can probably head off to bed early-ish and people will understand.
Hoe everyone else is doing well :)

Phew.................!!!!!

Well I was randomly shopping for books online and saw the dukan diet recipe book and said feck it, bought it and thats how i started.

Actually posted in OT if anyone knew anything about it etc and was pointed in the direction of this thread, ive been trying to get through it at work so its taken a few days, jesus ye'r all well able to talk :o0

Firstly i was dying to get to the end to see how the final dress fitting went errigal, Flip delighted for you it fits like a glove,WELL DONE great achievement, only 15 days to the wedding. I know youv worked hard, enjoy the wedding tho,eat what you want and drink plenty of wine, you'l only get 1 wedding day, same as for honeymoon, restart when you get back then! I hope you have a fantastic day- (i want my wedding day back) :o(

Sandra huge lose with you too, and i had an oul nose at your pics, jeez girl you look fantastic and about 10 years younger!

I started on tuesday evening and had 2 eggs scrambled with some smoked salmon.

Yesterday I had, scrambled egg and 2 slices of turkey, Lunch- egg mayo (already made up at work little or no mayo) tuna and turkey slices, Dinner - 2 lean steaks and 2 fried eggs onion and dijon mustard, all done in a dry pan wiped with oil before hand. water, tea with hermesetas skim milk sparkling water.

Today I had hot smoked salmon with me (gorgeous taste the same as smoked salmon but its a cooked salmon texture way easier to eat than normal smoked without having brown bread) and chicken slices, boiled egg.
loads of water, tea and vanilla tea with hermesetas in.
Lunch- chicken slice, hot smoked salmon slice, 1%fat cottage cheese and some crab sticks (yum) and muller light yoghurt with a dessert spoon of oat bran.
Only got oat bran today hence only started oat bran today.
I had all the headaches today and yesterday and really tired last nite. I only got to stand on a scales this morning as the battery is going. Im 10.7 this morning (so nothing over the last 2 days) would love to get to 9.7.
Did anyone else feel totally bloated- i feel im bursting out of my clothes today more than normal, not due TOM and not constipated :wv

Just realised ive written an essay- well done to everyone else hopefully ill be on telling you all of the lbs ive lost very soon!
Love is . . . . . putting up with snoring even though it drives you absolutly crazy xxx

Well ladies,
I've just read through the ENTIRE 26 pages of this thread and I'm feeling so incredibly motivated. Have to give a special mention to errigal as not only have you had such incredible results but you seem so unswayed and your posts are super encouraging - the way you write them or something.

Well, myself and my hubby are both starting the Dukan diet tomorrow morning. I have about 45 lbs to lose and he has about 20 lbs to lose. I've tried WW a few times over the years and had varying degrees of success but the weight has always gone back on.
I also suffer from PCOS (Polycycstic Ovarian Symptoms) too which has symptoms similar to diabetes meanning that my metabolism isnt exactly normal!!

But, at 176 lbs, I'm at the heaviest I've ever been and I'm simply not happy in my own skin. So it's time for it to go. I'm looking forward to joining you girls on this thread. Have stocked the fridge and will be coming in here to update, even if nobody else is here (I see the thread died off over the Christmas).

Anyway, hope some of you join back in now and we can help each other along.

Well, Day 1 done.
Here's what I ate.

Wasn't up in time for breakfast (still the Christmas holidays after all :-8 )

So lunch was 2 eggs scrambled with smoked salmon and a slice of ham with a cuppa.

Then dinner was a big steak and another egg followed by a muller light with my 2 spoons of oat bran in it.

Still working on my 1.5 litres of water but will have it drunk before bed.
