Anyone had a Lap in rotunda?

Hi ladies,

Im having a lap on thursday in the rotunda and im just wondering what to expect?

Do they tell you what time yor surgery will be at when you are admitted? Do they let you have someone wait with you?

Im really nervous even thinking about it! :weep :weep :weep I had an ectopic and I remember being really sore for weeks after the surgery. I know its not quite the same but at still terrified :eek :eek

I had my lap and ovarian drilling done there tho was in 2008 so a while ago. I was first to be admitted as I got there bit early so was first to go to theatre. They took me and dh to ward, i was told to undress and into bed, they did blood pressure etc. I think dh could have stayed but I sent him off. Was taken to theatre, given general anaesthetic which was fine, woke up in recovery room and was taken back to ward to rest. I was under Mocanu and he came around in the afternoon and had a chat then I was discharged. They gave me prescription painkillers but I didn't need them. I was tired for a good few days after anaesthetic tho. Bring few bottles water with you I was parched afterwards. I think mine was done on a tues and I was signed off work for rest of week. Make sure whoever collects u has bottle water in car for u and maybe cushion to put between ur tummy and seat belt as u may feel tender. I found mine fine and would do another no bother if needed. How did you get on today? Did it go ok? Hope your dh was able to be there when consultant came and that you are feeling ok and being minded :action31

Hi bumble, operation went ok. We were waiting in the reception waiting room from 8 till 3 before we got a bed. Only got to the ward and they were prepping me for surgery. :weep :weep He had warned us before that he may need to clip both my tubes to prepare for IVF but he said one tube is ok. He also said we can still go ahead with the IVF if we didnt want to wait and see if the tube is fully functioning. So im happy for now, have to go back in 6 weeks for a follow up :wv

Omg I can't believe u were waiting that long in reception. God that must've been head wrecking. Glad it went well, hope you are feeling ok since.
