To All Brides of Finnstown Country House Hotel,

As you know yes Finnstown went into Receivership 3 weeks ago and that Bank of Scotland Ireland has appointed Dalata Management to run the day to day business of Finnstown, this does and will not effect the standard and service Finnstown Country House Hotel is renowned for offering to our Brides and guests and will not change Finnstown Country House Hotel as the hotel that it is today.

As confirmed by myself Edwina King Reservations Manager and in writing by Dalata its business as usual here at Finnstown and that your wedding day and deposits going forward for the furture will not be effected.

Finnstown is a secure company and also a profitable company today and going forward for the coming years and this will not change. A New Hotel Manager has been appointed to Finnstown to assist the current Managers and staff grow our bussiness for the future.

as a supplier to Finnstown I can also say it's business as usual, the service you will get at the venue is brilliant & i personally would not see receivership as a reason to run from a wonderful venue with wonderful staff

Hi Ladies,
I'm sure you're all happily married at this stage but I've been looking at Finnstown as a wedding venue and was really excited all week about it till I've come on here and read these forums...can anybody tell me how they're weddings panned out afterwards please??

Maybe not the same thing as weddings.. Obviously, But I live very close to Finnstown, visit there regularly, & have had many family gatherings there, the food is great, the staff are lovely & there's always weddings happening!

I love it & if it wasnt on my doorstep, It would have quite possibly been 'The One'!

Sma we have Finnstown booked for late next year. We both love the venue and when I voiced concern over the receivership someone said to that there was probably nonsafe place to put your money! I'm delighted with our choice and can't wait for the day. Hth

Same here Jam. Finnstown has a fantastic reputation and I doubt very much they will be going anywhere soon! I reckon it is a fantastic venue choice and after covering communions and confirmations there I cannot wait to cover my first wedding there this month.

Hey guys,
Just saw this again here now. We ended up not booking Finnstown, and to be honest it was due to feeling undervalued. We viewed it last year on a Saturday and were shown around, shown the wedding album etc. When we got back to reception we asked about the date we were looking for and were told that the coordinator, Vera was on leave but that she'd be back on Monday and would phone me then. I received no word on Monday or Tuesday and wanting to give her time to settle in after her holidays I phoned Wednesday. I was told that our preferred date had been booked by someone on the Monday and that our details had not been received. We were told that the date a fortnight later was free but as this didn't really suit us I said we would consider it and get back. Vera told me she could only let me consider it for 2 days and after that I would have to confirm or lose the date.
We thought about it and decided we weren't keen on that date...but seeing as we only had the two days to consider it (this was strongly stressed) we just assumed we'd lost the date. About a month later we began to receive more calls to see if we wanted it....I was so annoyed as there'd been so much stress to decide within 2 days!

In the end it was the service that drove us away.

Sorry, this is just my experience of Finnstown, I'm sure you'll have a great day!
