Looking into booking Lough Rynn for our wedding in June 2013 but im a little concerned about the bar that a lot of guests could get lost to that area, Was this a problem for any brides in Lough Rynn

I don’t think the bar will be a major issue as the dance floor is right beside this area. You can be beside the bar but still be right beside the action iykwim? I had concerns before I had my viewing but I was put totally at ease once we saw the layout. We are getting married there year so I can’t say what it was like for us but I know people who have been to weddings in LR and the location of the bar to the dance floor was not an issue. HTH :wv

Thank you that helps put my mind at ease we havent booked it yet and that is one of the main reasons why! Are you doing much decoration with the room? it very modern looking! i went through the gallery on the website and seen it done with draping and i think it looks fab but makes it very expensive!

Originally I thought it could have been an issue; I had ruled out a few other venues due to the bar but I think with its proximity to the dance floor it will be fine. Not sure yet what I am going to do with the room, I saw some photos with the draping and it looks fab but at the moment (I could change my mind :compress ) I would prefer to spend money on other things. I know the room is more modern then the rest of the venue but I really like how the room looks when the chair covers and everything else is set. I love the views behind the bridal table and the natural light the room gets.

The chair covers do make such a difference ive visitd it twice once when they werent on and it was just so blue and the next time i was there they just happened to be on and it looked so much better! As for the draping it is fab but seriously pricey i looked into it just to see how much extra it would be and the company that did it for the pictures on the website quoted 4,000!!!

Hi girls,

Just booked my wedding for July 2013 in Lough Rynn... :xox Trying to get everything sorted now, so if anyone has any recommendations for suppliers in the area I'd appreciate the advice!

So far we've booked Night Fever from Longford as our band, and Manila Strings to play the drinks reception (I saw them at a friends wedding and I loved them)! We were also thinking of Michael Dillon photography from Loughrea, Galway - met Michael and really liked him, and his pictures, and he comes highly recommended (from family members). We met Liam Kidney, Athlone, but just think Michael is a better fit for us.

Thanks!! :wv

Hi All,
Booked lough rynn for May2013! Booked it last year but been trying to wait a little longer before I joined in chatting about it! But with a year and a bit to go I think I'm good to go!
Coco66 – Did you book it in the end? I agree with you above about the bar, I was concerned too that it would split the guests, but now I am embracing the fact that people have a space to go to get a breather from the music and craziness and it's not at the other end of the hotel, or worse still in a pub down the town somewhere. It's a long day for people and they sometimes do like a break before a wicked nights dancing, and if you have a good band and great friends, the dance floor will be full and people will want to come back in, because they are missing the fun. I think I will also (weather dependent) have our first dance out there or outside just at those doors, something to ensure we are among our friends and they are rushing back to see it, if you have booked it embrace the space!
Tiffany did you ever get to do a wedding report?
Diamonds and Pearls – Agree with you on décor but again won’t spend that money on draping. I am thinking of making sure the lights on the ceilings are white and get some of my own lights to shine up the walls in certain areas, I am not a fan of the back coloured panels and have to figure out how I work with them, but I think strong white lighting will be the answer.
You will all think I’m crazy when I say this but I have never seen the hotel!!! we are living abroad and I won't get back until my brother’s wedding this summer and my sisters in autumn so I will have plenty of time to check it out. But my brother visited the venue and friend’s recommendations are how I picked it!
Excited bride 2013 – Glad you’re excited and I don’t have too much done myself so cannot help too much with suppliers. You have the most important things done in my book, band and photographer. I have booked whitetea as photographer, and my band are childhood friends of my boyfriend and I, Flowers I will do myself with the help of Smithfield flower market, going for white hydrangeas (if anyone has any advice on them???). I have to find a DJ if anyone has any recommendations, have heard some terrible ones!
I am wondering what everyone is doing for their bridal party colours, the blue is so strong in the room and I love blue anyway, I am thinking of mis match blue, anyone else picked their bridesmaids yet?

Jezz that was some essay!
Happy Planning!

Hi MademoiselleC2013,
Wow you are amazing to have booked your venue without seeing it and to have so much organised from another country. I see that you have booked your photographer, great choice too.
But I just thought if you want to check out some of the possible photo locations at Lough Rynn (as you haven't actually been there yet) feel free to view some Lough Rynn photos on my website by simply clicking on this link.

Its great to see some more Lough Rynn brides out there! Its so exciting! I can’t believe that I will be getting married there this year.

excitedbride2013 I think there is a wedding fair at Kilronan Castle at the start of February so that could be a great place to meet local suppliers.

MademoiselleC2013 Tiffany did do a wedding day report, here is the link to it:

Dmc
thanks for the link, will take a look. I think there is a forest half way from my church to the venue, and hopefully in May there will be some blue bells out. But plently of other spots around lough rynn if not!

Great to great a reply to my first post! Thanks for the link and really good to read wedding reports. Navy will be lovely, and you can do lots with flowers with that colour. What month are you getting married this year? Have you got your dress yet??

Hi ladies,

Wohoo - another LR bride! Thanks for the heads up on the wedding fair - we are hoping to go to Kilronon that day. We also considered Kilronan for our wedding, but in the end LR is so close to my house, and I used to go there to play in the grounds when I was younger, it seemed like the better choice.
Mademoiselle- I don't have any recommendations for wedding DJs I'm afraid but maybe if you ask Ruth in the hotel she will be able to help you! Lough Rynn is an amazing place to take pictures, that's one thing you don't have to worry about (provided the weather is okay of course). Every photographer I went to see got excited when I mentioned lough rynn, because of the potential to get good pictures.
D&P - also think navy will be fab choice. Haven't even considered my b'maids dresses yet! This summer I will do that . My sisters and my friend are my bridesmaids (I have 3), so I will probably go with a colour that suits them all :o0

Mademoiselle, we are getting married in Lough Rynn in August and have booked John Reynolds to DJ after the band. The website is http://www.myweddingdj.ie he is excellent. We saw him in Lough Rynn at a friends wedding a few months ago and had the dance floor full all night.
