Glasson Hotel

Glasson Hotel

Postby sallyannie » Tue Nov 15, 2021 7:44 pm

Hi there, anyone have any genuine feedback on Glasson Golf hotel for their wedding. It seems like a great location but its pricey. Also any reviews I have read on Tripadvisor look like the have been written by the hotel themselves (wish they would stop doing this!)
Any feedback to a new wollie would be appreciated!

Hey,

I went and looked at Glasson venue but the only reason I didnt book it is because I wanted a small wedding and felt this venue was too big! Other than that I would have gone for it. I know a few people who have been to weddings there recently and they have been singing their praises - so it all sounds good! Its a great venue for views and photos and I have to say the staff when I went down there were very welcoming and accomodating.

I would recommed it over other hotels catering for the same sizes around the area!

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the response, I have a good feeling about the place but when I saw all the fake reports I got a little jittery. They also don't do menu tasting so may pop in some weekend to try the food
Thanks again

Sallyannie
It is Gareth here from Glasson. Whilst we tend to keep an eye out for postings on WOL (freedom of speech is great!) we only very occasionally post any replies.
I just wanted to let you know that I can 100% guarantee that none of the Trip Advisor posts that you might have seen (we are honoured to be placed number 1 out of 11 Athlone Hotels) have been posted by Glasson Staff / friends etc.
As a family owned and Managed Property we have a genuine to desire to look after each and every customer - with Brides and Grooms 'First among Equals'!
I am delighted that you have a nice 'feel' about the place here at Glasson (it is a lovely setting and feedback on the food front has been consistently excellent) and we do hope to be able to look after you here.
On the 'tasting' front, we would invite you down for Dinner to meet / try the food rather than offer a formal 'tasting' - we can talk you through the logic behind this.
Please do not feel 'big brother is watching you' and, as I say, it was only your comments on Trip Advisor (all of our Staff here put in huge efforts to get the consistent feedback we receive) that led me to post.

Hello
we had our wedding in Glasson country house hotel last week if anyone wants to email me specific questions they can. all i can say is we stayed the whole weekend and it was absolutely the best weekend ever. Everyone spoke about the meal at the wedding so generous with 2nd helpings etc. The only thing that i would change from the whole weekend is my choice between summer punch and sparkling wine i went with summer punch thats it and thats my own fault. honestly anyone thinking of booking here 100% should and i promise you couldnt regret it. Every single person who attended thought it was perfect. i was never sure about the position of the dancefoor again it works perfectly full all night i actually think it really is at an advantage being nearer the bar. Absolutely delighted we picked this hotel staff food surroundings etc etc perfect :wv
