Just wondering if anyone has ordered dresses from here iv fallen in love with a few styles but afrid the quality will be poor and the customs charges also not sure what they will be

I received a dress from here about a week or so ago. Its a copy of Maggie Sottero 'Amara Royale' which I believe is a discountinued dress. Its a mermaid strapless style. The dress took about a month or just over to arrive. I had it custom made to fit my measurements exactly.
It was delivered to work so had a quick look there but had to wait until I got home to try it. I was impressed, no doubt about it. The dress is a very good copy. My sister came over & helped me try it on.
Its fully lined, has a built in bra, or cups sown in & is a lace up back. It fit perfectly & was made to my measurements as asked.
The material is good quality but not as good as wedding gowns I've seen in the shops. This particular dress has a built in petticoat or layers of crinoline to give it shape. The dress has ruching from the top right down to just above the knee & then 'kicks out' from the knee to give the mermaid/trumpet shape.

Where the ruching stops & the layers of the petticoct starts, appears sligtly see-through when the dress is on. It's as if that particular part of the dress isn't lined.
I had bought another petticoat so tried it on with that, and problem solved. it would also be no problem to have some lining sewn in.

I have decided i'm not going to wear this dress... Its not got to do with any quality issue, I always said that I wasn't happy spending lots of money on a dress I'd only wear for 12hrs. but when I tried it, it just didn't feel like 'the one' - I really wish it had, having only cost me about E150 but it just doesnt & I'm now going to order a dress from White Orchid in Swords. I just feel like I'll be settling if I wear this dress, having said that, there is genuinely nothing wrong with it. I plan to donate it to barnardos or oxfam bridal. So despite my initial refusal to spend a significant amount of money on a dress for one day, thats what I find myself doing. I think it just happened that I found 'the one' & I have to pay to have it! Luckily I still have plenty of time before the wedding to allow me to have this experience & still go ahead & find another dress.

I have used 'Light in the box' several times in the past, for cocktail dresses & once for when I was a bridesmaid for my friend, and can't fault this company either. Infact I'd rate them a little higher then dressing pod. All of their stuff is corseted, the material seems to be a bit higher quality & they've great customer service / returns policy etc.
I am buying my bridesmaid dresses from here, for sure. I also got my shoes here & am currently waiting on my veil. They're good for favours and all sorts of wedding related items you may need. beware though, you'll be charged import tax in the form of an invoice from fedex several weeks after your delivery. seems to be about 20% of the total cost of the order.

The wedding dres from dressing pod was not corseted or boned.. the ruching was very flattering but the dress slighty folded under the bust, and I felt it may need some reinforcemnt there - there is a band of crystasls under the bust & they were lost due to the material folding. Perhaps some good underwear might help this however. The workmanship is excellent, its very well made & really, for the price, I can't complain. Just unfortunately the minute I put it on, I knew I wouldnt' feel good in this dress for my wedding. When you know you know!! And infact the dress I've gone for since, Is very different!!

Hello again

Right well bridesmaid and mother of the brides dresses came yesterday. The bridesmaid dresses are lovely however they where ment to be burgudy in colour but they are blood red major disappointment for our bride as the wedding is 3 and a half months away so to send them back it would be cutting if very fine to get other ones back in time for the big day . So now our bride has to fork out extra money for new bow ties and cumberbunds for best men so we will all match but like I said the dresses them selves where lovely and of good quality.

However the mother of the brides dress was a huge disappointment it came completely different to the picture the arms where to be 3/4 length they are wrist length the dress was to be rose pink and its princess pink and to top it all off the detail is completely different.

Now having said all of this our bride has only started the process of contacting the company to seek a resolution so they might be lovely about it and very helpful we're not sure yet Ill keep you all posted thou.
