Re: Help me decide which Denby!
Hi mightymammy. Not familiar with these. It might be helpful for people if you put up pictures of them
Re: Help me decide which Denby!
I think the Imperial Blue is like a royal blue and Linen is a beige? I wouldn't be a lover of blue and I wonder if you would get fed up of the colour after a while? I have a Linen teapot which was given to me as a gift and I could take or leave it. We were also given a Jet set of plates, cups & bowls and I much prefer that. It's black and is very neutral. It is readily available in Debenhams etc and while I never bothered with the serving platters, if I wanted them, they are available in Jet Stripes or Spots, which could add interest if matching to my plain Jet.
I would imagine it's a personal thing though ![]()
Re: Help me decide which Denby!
I have the blue and tbh it just stays in our press. I much prefer Nicholas Mosse sets so trying to get a bit of this.
My Mother collects the Imperial Blue set and loves it and have to admit I love a good coffee in one of these. Haven't seen the linen but it sounds more neutral, I think I would go with this as it would be much easier to match this all together with other things. ![]() Re: Help me decide which Denby!
This is the Imperial
http://www.shopcookware.ie/denby-imperi ... 73cat.aspx this is the Linen http://www.shopcookware.ie/denby-linen/89cat.aspx I think I'd go with the Linen, easier to match things to this. Re: Help me decide which Denby!
We have the linen, we received it as a wedding present and have added the tea pot, s/p shakers, milk jug and sugar bowl to it. Its ok, I think if I had been choosing myself I would have gone for a different colour set (not the blue either!) but I dont despise it, I'll be looking at it for the next ten or twenty years so I better get used to it

Re: Help me decide which Denby!
i think we might have got the blue as a wedding present or else it is green one. We definitely got green in oven ware but never used it yet. It is boxed in the attic until we find a nice home. I like the blue one though.
Re: Help me decide which Denby!
We got a few bits and pieces of the Linen Denby and I love it. Would love to the get the whole set. So my vote would be get the linen
Denby also have the truffle range which quite nice too Re: Help me decide which Denby!
We have the linen... I think I'm less likely to get sick of a neutral colour!

Re: Help me decide which Denby!
I got the Imperial Blue because I thought it wouldn't date too quickly. However I also have Wedgwood crockery that was on offer through Tesco some years back, pattern name "Sarah's Garden". I like the Denby coffee mugs and occasionally use the tea cups but find that I only get to the dinner and salad plates when my Wedgwood ones are in the dishwasher. The Denby pasta bowls are brilliant for things like curry dishes or anything with a lot of sauce in it and they hold loads. The pasta bowls come in for heavy use when we have stir fries for that reason.
Dogs may have masters. Cats have staff. And don't they know it.
Re: Help me decide which Denby!
As it happens, my mum has both sets!
If I'm going for a cup of tea, I generally pick the blue one - so I guess that reveals which one I prefer!
Re: Help me decide which Denby!
Pick the one that one be decommissioned! We got oyster stripes for ours but they have stopped making it and now we can't get it anymore. Both are lovely btw - think the linen is lovely though my sis has the imperial blue set for over 10 years and it's still in stock!
Re: Help me decide which Denby!
I bought the whole linen collection over the last 12 months, i personally loove the neutral look. In saying that my mum has the imperial blue collection and it looks great!!
Personal opinion i guess!!!
