pre marriage courses dublin

Postby tanksnews » Thu Mar 12, 2022 11:10 am

Hi folks

Our parish priest recommended we do one of the following - accord course, the Naomi course, the All Hallows Course or the COI course (i think its MRSA ?!?!) in that order. Once we do one hes not bothered which one. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone whos actually done any of these could recommend one? H2B wants a one on one course and to get out of it as quick as poss. But Im not too bothered, would rather get something out of it. Thanks in advance :wv

I'm doing All Hallows next month. A few at work have done it and found it grand. One day long - 11 to 5 I think. €120.

Another work colleage did the 3Hr one you mentioned and actually found it good but my priest preferred a Catholic one (that one is non-denominational).

All hallows was good, done by a mixed religion couple, more on relationships/communication etc than religion.
Over in a day, fair few couples in the room but no group exercises, some between the two of you.

We're doing the accord one in Navan this Saturday 9am-6pm so will be a long day; h2b is dreading it as he falls asleep in talks/meetings/lectures so hopefully a bit of interaction will be included to keep him awake! A few have done it there & said it was very good.

Hi
We did the avalon course in d hilton hotel.it was on a sat from 11-5 which was great.Ive heard of some people who did one over d course of 3 days. Our priest wasnt too fussy about which course we did so u may need to check wit your priest....just to be sure. They're too expensive to get it wrong :)
Hope this helps.

Just replying here for future reference as I know the OP has already chosen her course.
We did the MRCA one.

Our priest had no objection to us doing it as we felt this was the course that would suit us best and we discussed it with him.
It was one to one and we really got a lot out of it .I think on a communal course you don't get the opportunity to address issues that possibly may arise with your particular personalities/ set of circumstances and a one to one course is really worth doing!
