Difficulty booking church / priest

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with booking a church. We are from Dublin and getting married in a church in the west so Ive been calling the parish office to try book it. At first she was telling me that I need to talk to my priest in Dublin before I book it but when I rang my parish, they wouldn’t set up a meeting until we are within the 6 months before the wedding. SO I rang back a couple of times and the lady who looks after it is either not there or when I do talk to her, she just takes my details and I dont hear from them or  they say they were very busy with confirmations and easter. Each time I call they act like they never got a marriage enquiry before! She did tell me the church is free on the date so not sure what she wanst from me to book it??

Any suggestions? Thanks a mill.

Hi,
maybe you should go to mass and approach the priest afterwards .we had abit of trouble booking ours at first but we got the priests mobile number off the parish website and rang him directly so maybe look up the website if there is one and see if there are anyother contact numbers . O-O

Yeah, I think you're right, we should just bite the bullet & travel down there for mass. Thanks a mill!
