Get your own bloody list!!!

Get your own bloody list!!!

Postby ballybegbride1 » Wed May 02, 2022 11:42 pm

I swear to God if he asks me to give him a flipping list of things to do 1 more time!!!!

him - "Why are you so stressed"?
me - "Seriously?!"
him - "what else is there to do"?
me - "seriously?!!!"
him - "why dont you ask for my help?"
me - "eh, ok. help!"
him - "right what can I do?"
me - "everything! i need to figure out who is travelling with who, i need to figure out who is sleeping where the night before and then the night of the wedding, who is staying the 2nd night, figure out who can collect the cake and bring it up, when we are going to get the wine up there, what we are going to eat the day before, ...."
him - "no no no, not that kind of stuff... im not doing the figuring out stuff, your better at that..give me an actual list, like an actual list of jobs I can tick off!"
me - "they are all jobs you can tick off"!
him - "no like proper jobs"
me - "ok, we'll we've to chase up the late RSVP's, heres the excel sheet, we've to send over the music list, write up the ceremony outline, make signs for directions, contact the caterer to change the canopé choice, contact the chair cover people and make sure they know to move the covers after the ceremony...."
him - "no, no no , not that stuff, you know all about the ins and outs of this stuff, you know all the details. is there anything else I can do ?"
me - *sigh* "no"
him - "there has to be other stuff that needs doing? do you not have another list?"
me - "there probably is other stuff!! lots of other stuff! im sure im dropping the ball somewhere but I can't tell you where or what else there is to do because I have never planned a wedding before have I? I dont have a magic list of things that I automatically know need to be done, I just know that they need to be done when I realise they need to be done! Then I just DO THEM!! Im not your mother! figure it out for yourself! get your head in the game!!!! O:| "

silence

him - "you're a control freak".

seriously does anyone else have one like this??! :duh:

I’m sorry to laugh but :yelrotflmaosmilie: :yelrotflmaosmilie: :yelrotflmaosmilie:
:yelrotflmaosmilie: :yelrotflmaosmilie: :yelrotflmaosmilie:

God same as ourselves – "sure everything is done don’t know what you are stressing" is going to be written either mine or his gravestones!! Am sick hearing that, they really don’t understand the details at all, yes all the big things are done but I want the nice details that not everyone will notice but some will and say oh wow that looks great!!

:yelrotflmaosmilie: :yelrotflmaosmilie: too!
Thank you for the most honest and funniest post yet! I am 100% sure it's not funny to you, but fair play for putting the rant down on paper (so to speak), hopefully it has helped and I hope you get some great advice.

I am a year away (tomorrow) from getting married so I'm not into those finer complicated details, But as far as H2B I have it all ahead of me. The above sounds just like my H2B and I know mine will have an innocent bewildered look of ' I don't know why you're worrying' and 'I am helping'. We live abroad and arranging it from here takes some planning, so far I have only asked him to follow up one thing..the church/priest side of things..and he asked him Mam to do it! so you're not alone.

And be careful what you wish for, my friend's hubby got very involved but only at the last minute, with such helpful twit bits of 'why this' and 'would it not be better that' etc etc and swooped in at the last minutre looking very helpful to family and guests as if he had been running the show for months...it did take a little from all the hard work she had done.

I would give you some end advice but it looks like you tried that giving him a specific task (rsvps) and all the other stuff (cake, wine, signs) pretty basic so no idea how to help you. I suspect if you are like me, you knew he's be like this and you still love him. So rant away here and take a deep breadth, and enjoy if you can. :)

Oh god love ya..I dont blame u to be stressed..The men think its a big fuss about nothing...Were 4mths away from our big day and I have to admit i am an organised person and all the big things are done but if someone says to me sure ur all org now what have u to be worring about ill swing for them...Just because im an org person doesnt mean i wont stress out...Just this week ive been org my OWN hen party...The bridesmaids (my sis and friend) turned around to me at the weekend and asked me what i wanted to do only to be followed by sure u look up the hotels and get back to us when its booked...Ah hello...some help would be nice...then they used the excuse that i had all my friends phone nos...i no if i dont org it i prob wont have one at all cos they are so laid back they could fall over...My OH jokes about all the lists I have but he never asks to see them...U shud write down all the the little jobs u have to do and hand it to ur other half and tell him not to come back with it until he has it all ticked off...
