What's on your baby bucket list?

What's on your baby bucket list?

Postby pinkknickers » Mon Jan 30, 2022 6:23 pm

Just for fun! For those of you who want to enter the crazy world of parenthood...are there any things that you want to do before taking the leap?

Since our lives will be over when babies arrive ( :o0 ) I've started my baby bucket list. We're married a year now and plan to TTC this time next year. So far we've booked an amazing trip to Australia for May and we've planned to go to a couple of music festivals this summer (neither of us have ever been to one!). Also on my list is a weekend skiing and I want to see the Russian State Ballet's Swan Lake. Still working on adding more small stuff...

Disclaimer: I'm not really saying babies are the end of your life and I know you can do all these things when you have kids. I just want to have a really fun year to think back on when I'm (please god) a sleep deprived new parent...

Also I thought it would be insensitive to post this in TTC forum so sorry if it is slightly OT for some newlyweds who aren't interested in becoming parents. O:o)

I'd definitley go on a pre-baby moon! A friend of mine did this when she was pregnant and she said it was the best idea ever. I think it looks so cute and smug when a couple are on holiday and she's preggers but it's clearly their first (no other sprogs running around) and they're both all "sigh!, these are the last days of freedom.....better toddle back to bed for a nap....oh, let's lounge around the pool for another while and blurt out "how about Ethan?" every few minutes...."

Man, I can't wait! :lvs

my bucket list definitely includes holidays would love to go to a Sandals resort or other adults only resort for a week especially love how Sandals are 24 hours all inclusive so you can be like Homer and phone for steak at 4am mmmm

Not sure if it's going to work out though as hubby wants to go to Euro's so if he does excess cash will be spent on him - wonder if I could pretend my friend is my partner and we can go to Sandals :) :)

we got married early last year and decided to wait a few months before ttc. I'm now nearly 12 weeks pregnant :lvs but we did try to live it up before ttc!

we went on a weekend trip with all our friends to a house in the country for a big session O-O

we went to an adults only spa for another weekend- bliss!

we made an extra effort to go to concerts, comedy gigs and special events

I had loads of girls nights out and he did likewise with the boys

we're planning a baby-moon somewhere sunny for a week as our last chilled holiday for a while

and now that i'm pregnant i've a post-baby list which to be honest mainly has to do with the food i'm not allowed eat during pregnancy

roll on september when i can eat scallops, paté, prawns and warm goats cheese with a glass of bubbly!

Nice thread!
Ours is mainly full of holidays and places we won't be able to go to for a long time once any children arrive. We've 5weeks in SE Asia booked for this summer as well as a long weekend in London (for me!) and 2 weekends away between now and the summer. I think I'd like to head to the states for a week or so (either to Chicago or Boston) in October.

I'd also like to lose a few stone before I ttc as I feel at the moment I'm a little too overweight to carry a baby healthily.
