** posted in old faithful too but no replies so hope you dont mind me posting here too **

Hi wollies
I am trying to jot down what all needs doing the week before the wedding, our wedding is on a Saturday, i plan to work Monday and half day Tuesday and then have a hair appt to get my colour done on the Tuesday afternoon. I will be off Wed, Thurs, Friday.
I will have to collect my dress and get engagement ring cleaned - Same town so can do this at same time.
I have to leave stuff of to hotel - wine, cake, guest book, clothes etc.
Rehersal is Thursday night - Tan being done after rehersal, Nails being done on Friday.
Collect mens suits and get them to try on.
Phone and confirm times with photographer/dvd/cars/church music/florist/band
get final numbers to hotel

Am i missing anything else that i have to do in the last few days.

Hiya,
Maybe I am reading this wrong but did you say you were collecting and trying on suits the night before? I wouldn't leave it that late tbh because if the worst came to the worst and something needed to be changed, you have very little time so if at all possible, I would get that done earlier in the week.
I would ring your suppliers this week instead of next week, that way it will be off the list and you wont be panicking next week.
Try and delegate some of your other stuff to do because you don't want to spend the last week running around like a maniac and then when your big day arrives you'll be wrecked.
Make sure you do a dress rehearsal before the day - I didn't and when it came to sitting down in my dress it was a bit awkward plus my bra was visible during ceremony (when I got to hotel, I made a beeline for the loo and fixed it :o0 )
I can't think of anything else but just relax as best you can and enjoy the build up. Use the time you are getting your nails done to completely switch off from wedding stuff. Go on your own if you have to but use it as a chance to totally chill out.
Enjoy and best of luck on the day :wv

Hi Mr Spud, thank u for replying and congrats on your recent wedding x
The suits will be lifted on the Wednesday, that list wasnt really in order just jotted them down as they came into my head.
i'm just scared incase i'm missing something.... i will take time to chill out dont worry, i'm good at doing that! its because i'm so laid back about it that i'm scared incase i'm over-looking something that i should be doing... i'm sure it will all come together x
thanks again

definitely confirm suppliers this week just in case..

are you doing a table plan? would do that this week also or early next week

re the engagement ring - are you getting it dipped? mine had to be sent away for it to be dipped and i was without it for a week.. so would check with your jewellers asap to see if you will be without it for all

are you doing a speech on the day? i left that to week of wedding and didnt get a change to write it.. regretted it after

finally.. relax as much as you can!

Well done on being organised!! i would second what others have said and ensure that you contact your suppliers this week rather than next week!!!

i would have a list of what specific photos you want be it with grandparents or someone special and give it to photographer!

i would organise a emergency bag as well to have in the church this would include chalk, needles thread, tampons (you never know) plasters, panadol, etc and entrust someone with it that you know wont let you down! i would also get small kid bottles of water and make sure your best man has these at the top of the church!!!

defo +1 on the speech writing and have 3 copies of it! put on in an envelop and give to the hotel to be placed on your chair at the reception, one in your bag if you have one and also one in your overnight case JUST IN CASE

have everything listed out that you need to do the morning of the wedding!! i was coming down the stairs and suddenly realised i had no necklace and earrings on!! so have everything laid out properly! and in order!!

AND MOST importantly!!! have your chief bridesmaid put you into your dress!!!! i can not emphasise this enough! then turn completely around and ensure there is nothing wrong with the dress!!!!!

If your mum is still around ensure that she is all set as well!! the last thing you need to be doing is watching her fret around the house especially if you are the first daughter to get married!!!

OH!! and plan to spend an hour or two the night before with your other half! go for a walk, turn the telly off and just chat!!!!

god i wish it were me all over again!!!

have the most amazing day of your life!!!! x

I'm not sure if I'm too late but one tip on WOL I found brilliant was to make everyone who will be getting ready in the house on the morning (Bridesmaids, mam and dad, siblings, relatives, ANYONE) do a full run through of their outfits a week before the big day, down to socks, knickers and earrings. My family all swore they were ready to go, but the weekend before when I made them do this all of them had to get something they'd forgotten about, even the really organised ones. So I'd recommend this to avoid any unnecessary hassle or stress on the morning.
