wha the best way to source finance for your wedding? credit union or bank loans?

Savings only - risky getting loans for a one day event.

Savings, getting "finance" for one day is a bit mad, end up paying for it for years.

I'm sure if she had enough savings, she wouldn't be asking this question.

OP, the credit union is the best place if you really need to get a loan. Banks aren't giving them out at the moment anyway.

It makes more sense to plan the wedding around what savings you have or can save before it rather than source money for a wedding that you can't afford, that way you have enough savings.

I absolutely agree that that's the sensible way to do it, but perhaps she's in a bit of a bind or doesn't have that long left and needs to get her hands on some cash. Saving isn't always an option.

we got a bank loan as you had to have X amount in credit union to get a loan.

We just made sure we went for flexible loan so we were able to pay it off after the wedding with no penalties.
