What was the worst wedding present you got?

What was the worst wedding present you got?

Postby edit » Thu Jun 28, 2022 3:02 pm

Ha ha - just having a laugh at lunch and talking about wedding presents.

My friend received a present of a set of waterford crystal glasses.
They had no need for them so she went to bring them back to the shop that the friend said he bought them in.

So in she goes into town and goes up to the till to see how much credit she has in the shop and the sales assistant is scanning away and nothings coming up and was she sure she got them there and the usual. Anyway, the sales assistant made a few calls and those type of glasses stopped being made ten years ago......... :eek

:o0 :o0 :o0 :o0 I fell around the place laughing !!

Same as Desertmoon some guests gave us nothing.
One or two of them I am not surprised by but there are a few couples i am a bit dissapointed about, one couple in particular we even paid for their accomodation as they had been really generous to us when they got married, my hubby was their groomsman and they paid for us so even tho we didnt have a groomsman we thought it only fair to pay for their room but we never got a gift from them.

One couple gave us a towel set and sweets - yes 2 big bags of sweets
another couple who came from overseas - so I can understand the exchange rate was not great but they put a €50 note, €5note and some coins in the card - eh hello just stick to the notes please (not 2 sound ungrateful)
and for some reason we got a lot of lamps - really ugly ones - not sure if this is the norm here, needless to say they were moved on to aunties and charity

We got nothing from a few also, not a big deal though. The worst was from my brother and his boyfriend, who makes the worst handmade greeting cards you've ever seen for a living. The boyfriend made us a lovely work of art, our initials and a heart scribbled in silver pen and framed! I was like "It's so original and unique" when thanking him!
