Anyone having their wedding in Harvey's Point? Or been to a wedding in it recently? Love the place but quite expensive - anyone know what they are like to bargain with?

Well being up this neck of the woods I can only say that Harvey's has a great reputation. IF you do a search in the wedding day reports I know there are some that refer to it. I wouldn't know about the negotiations but do know that Eamonn (if that's who you're dealing with) is very amenable and approachable.

Been to a wedding there and also a weekend away - it's a bit dated in terms of the decor but lovely setting and GORGEOUS food. Far too much of it too if you ask me! No idea about haggling sorry - but as they're over the border I'd say you have an ace up your sleeve.

Hi Evalena! Have been for Sunday lunch a few times, but haven't had the pleasure of staying in it (YET!) I would need more that aces up my sleeve mind you - more like plenty of euro!! You booked anywhere yourself?

Hi I was bridesmaid at a wedding there in 2005...I know that isn't very recent but I absolutely loved every minute of it, it is just gorgeous setting, the food was AMAZING and the guy who was co-ordinator on the day just was soo professional and put all the bridal party especially the bride and groom so at their ease. If it hadn't been my best friend who had been getting married there I so would have picked it for mine. _________________

Have our place booked yes - food followed by location were the deciding criteria and with Harveys you have won. Have a few friends who also stayed there and big up the food also! _________________

hi,
just wondering if anybody has been to a wedding in the gourmet suite at harvey's point.
think it holds up to 350 people. i'm expecting to have about 150 guests and have been told it will be fine but worried the room will look empty and will be no atmosphere
anyone been to a wedding of 150 or so there? was it okay?

Great choice - we had a fab time Paul and the team are excellent, our guests are still talking about the food and all the choice.
We had 180 and it was fine - the room looks bigger than it actually is. We used the tables near to the bar only for the pre-dinner drinks reception. The hotel will help you to organise the best way to set out the room and the great thing is that the tables are all for different numbers 6, 8, 10 etc... So you're not restricted to 15 tables of 10.

We orginally had decided on Harveys Point but my brother got married there and a few cousins too so decided to go with the Solis Castle for a change. It's a fabulous hotel though and I would highly recommend.
Good luck _________________

We had our reception there just a few weeks ago and it was perfect, amazing and fabulous. The staff at Harvey's are just brilliant at what they do. The whole place from its location to the rooms and the food is super. Anyone who is thinking of having your reception there?....do!!
