When to serve champagne????????

When to serve champagne????????

Postby LondonBridetobe » Fri Mar 02, 2022 7:20 pm

My hotel is only offerring champagne for the wedding party but they are allowing me to bring in whatever drink I like with no corkage but there is corkage on wine/champagne if I serve it at a later point. My dilemna is when to serve champagne. I had always presumed on arrival and maybe a drink of choice for the toast. Was speaking to a guy I work with who has wine certs and had a business selling wine. He advised that guests at weddings often like to mix in some OJ/cranberry juice with prosecco (well he is Italian!!) or sparkling wine which is best to serve on arrival and a good champagne should be served for the toast. What do you all think??? O-O

I wouldn't say there's a rule of when to serve it and when not to serve it, its just what you want.

Thats fantastic that your venue is not charging corkage, its normally so expensive on top of your wine/champagne.

We are having a champagne/cocktail reception on arrival for all guests, then red/white wine free flowing during the meal and then whatever the guest chooses for the toast. I wouldn't give this option for the toast as it costs a lot of money for a big wedding but the toast is included in the package and its the only reason there unlimited wine during dinner. O-O
