Wine or First Drink

Wine or First Drink

Postby April13 » Mon Feb 27, 2022 10:12 pm

Is it bad looking that I'm having only one or the other??

Corkage in my hotel is €8.50 and they won't budge on price......

So I'm thinking of just doing the toast drink!!!!!!

I think it would be unusual to not have wine with the meal...ive never experienced that!
if it was either of those options i'd go with wine with the meal over a toast drink.

is there any way that the hotel would supply wine as part of your package? norm is 2 glasses/half bottle per person.

I don't know - I've never been to a wedding that didn't have wine with the meal.

I haven't either but have been where there wasn't a toast drink just a top up of the wine.

Gosh I haven't been to one like that either - it's always wine plus toast drink - sometimes free bar - though that was a few years ago now.

Gone is the day of the toast drink that was Celtic Tiger stuff! We are going for wine and no toast drink. All weddings I have been to for the last three years this is how it has been and I never noticed till we booked our own wedding and seen that some hotels had toast drink in packages

Hi
Just wondering if any of you are just having tea and cofee for guests on arrival without wine or champagne reception. Our package is only for tea anc cofee and corkage charge is €12 per bottle.

There is halfbottle wine per person with the meal and we were going to do drink of choice for the toast. Would it appear better to have a drinks reception on arrival of guests inseted of drink of choice?
any opinions, help....

Hi all

Fairly new to this, this is what i'm planning

Pre-reception

Tea / Coffee
Biscuits
Hot or cold punch
Chocolate fountain with fresh strawberries and marshmallows

with meal
Just doing wine with meal - hotel told us gls and half was enough per guest?

Have not decided on toast drink yet? - I was going to go with sparkling wine but was at a wedding recently and most of it was left, feel drink from bar was very expensive..

Now i'm wondering if this is enough?

We are having Sparkling wine reception with teas & coffee (thats standard)
Then serving wine with the meal, the last 2 wedding i have been at did not do the toast drink so we have knocked this off our list. Also doing Candy Buffet & chocolate fountan.. can't wait for that bit!!
