Something new on the menu

Something new on the menu

Postby MybigfatCorkwedding » Wed May 02, 2022 9:15 am

Hi all,

I have gone through the menu from our hotel & all I see is the same traditional food now there is nothing wrong with it I just would like something different..

We can have a choice of 3 main courses sooooooo what do you think if we offer a choice of a traditional dinner of roast beef , monkfish & then homemade burgers with hand cut chips ??

My family & OH think its mad to have burgers on a menu I am just looking to have something different…

I would love some suggestions on main courses pleaseeeeeeeee :wv

I think it's a great idea to have an "out there" menu option- especially if you are giving three options of main course.

I agree with trying to shake up the menu, we are having Tapas to start followed by traditional Fish n Chips and Beef & Guiness Pie, Im still a bit nervous about it but gonna stick to my guns and hopefully our guests will be pleasantly surprised! Go For it

I think your menu sounds fab.
We have a Mushroom Vol au Vent starter
Sweet potato soup
Choice of Fillet of beef or Seabass
& dessert Medley
We've dont our menu tasting already and were delighted with it. Wish we had the courage to go totally different now though. You've got me thinking!

Thanks for all the replies :wv

Its so hard trying to please people but I`m going to dig my heels in & get something "different" added to the menu... hoping even to get a nice pasta dish on there at least!!

The idea of tapas is fantastic , they are so popular everyone will be so impressed with them.

Sounds good. Be confident in your choices, if you would enjoy eating it then why would your guests not! :hyper:

I think it's a great idea however if having 3 choices I wouldn't put 2 beef options. I'd put 3 differents meats.

Might be good idea to speak to your hotel.....you have to consider that the food has to be mass produced and offered to guests all at same time, and u don't want it to be cold or delayed or anything. I worked in a hotel before and those traditional type meat n veg meals work well for preparing in advance....meats are roasted earlier then later carved and platted on v hot plates, veg n potato served separately to ensure hot when guests get them. Just worth thinking about the practicalities!!! I do like the idea though
