Advice needed - Venue for post-wedding party (Dublin)!

Hi all,

Can anyone suggest somewhere in Dublin that might be good for hosting an informal get-together for around 50 people? As our (tiny) wedding will be abroad, and we're on a tight budget, we want to do something simple and informal a week or two later for friends and family at home. Kind of along the lines of a 21st, except without the same level of booze intake! (Although, knowing some of my friends... :o0 ). Format would be a pay bar, with maybe a glass of champers or two to greet people, possibly some punch, and some platter-type grub/sambos over the course of the evening.

I've been racking my brains and can only think of a few pubs, and those might not have an upstairs room big enough. We don't really want to go down the hotel function room route, as they'll charge lots and it could end up being a bit soulless. We'll have a few people coming over from England, so it would be good to have somewhere with a bit of character and a "vibe".

Any ideas and suggestions very gratefully received! :)

We had our wedding in McGrattans just off Baggott Street, they are so lovely there and it's a great venue. Definitely contact them - our wedding was brilliant and they can cater for any budget.
