Would it matter to you if it was shorter?/ Have you got your heart set on it being longer?
Oh I dont want to ruin it because you have researched it so much, but personally I think it may look a little off if its shorter than the dress, because the Cathedral length always looks so elegant sweeping behind the dress, and really sets the look off.
I would ring the shop, thats what they are there for, and it doesnt matter if you have been in and out of there like a yoyo on a daily basses :o0 Its a big question and decision so I wouldn't go ahead with the purchase without ringing the shop first. :)

veils can be ordered really quickly so I d def figure out how much of a train is on the dress before you buy, also check on ebay as often there are many veils on there!

Can you try on a chapel length veil with your dress and see what it looks like? Personally I'm wearing a chapel length veil that's shorter than the train on my dress but my dress has an organza overlay so it doesn't look wrong at all- the 2 kind of blend if you know what I mean! I think definitely if you can try on any chapel length veil with your dress you'll be able to tell how it would look with the veil you want.

i've come across guidelines online for buying veils & one such guideline is that the veil should end about 2 inches above or below a particular detail on the dress and/or the end of the train otherwise it would either obscure from view or compete with that particular detail. or it could cut off an otherwise long silhouette (depending on the features of the dress).

speaking personally, it'd just really bug me if the train was longer than the veil! i have a chapel length train but chapel length veils were too short (i'm just over 6ft in my shoes) so i got a cathedral length one & have about 4' between the end of the veil & the end of the train.

Tbh i think you'd probably be better off bookmarking that veil & then looking it up again when your dress is finally in. that way you can take the measurements of your dress & know for sure. maybe it'd be possible to have a dressmaker take some length off the veil? or maybe your shop will have gotten some in stock that you could try on just to see what length works & order it yourself online (or your shop might give you a deal seeing as you ordered your dress there - don't be afraid to haggle!)

Thanks for your suggestions. I think your right! I'm gonna wait until I try on the dress and then see what a chapel length veil looks like and if it's good I'll go with it
