Hi girls

I am looking to buy my own wine for the reception. Can any of kyou give me some names of reasonably prices red and white wines that most people would enjoy.

I have been recommended the ones below - any comments on these?

Cava - Segura viudas heredad brut reserva
red - marques de caceres rioja
white - marques de caceres rioja blanco
white - Torres vina sol

Hey Mags,

Torres Vina Sol is YUM! not sure about the others, but it depends what you're looking for. Any kind of sauvignon is usually popular cos even people who don't normally drink wine, will drink it. If you want, I'll get a few bottles of different wine tonight and test them out and let you know!!! Just for research purposes, you understand!!!!! :oops: 8)

That would be wonderful Jools.

I'm home alone tonight as h2b is on late shift and think I will open a bottle myself. Again this is purely in the interests of research. Although, I will have to bee careful as I have an appointment with the Jenny's cakes tomorrow and dont want to show up smelly of booze!! :lol:

Ladies - any other advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mags,

At the risk of sounding cheap :oops: !! LIDL's stock some great wines and at most they cost 6 euro a bottle. :wink:
Add corkage and youv'e probably got a bit of a money saver and I doubt anyone will notice where you got the wine.

One to try of you like white anyway is the Semillon Chardonnay. It's got a yellow wax plug over the cork at 5.49 a bottle you could do worse.

I will leave you to experiment with the reds but one that I found to resemble Rosemount in the past was LIDL's Wood Canyon.
