Dino2010 wrote:Hi girls - i started today. Had my muller fat free yogurt for breakfast - was fairly starved by lunch time. Then i had low fat ham with prawns for lunch. Then for tea i had an omelette with some more prawns and onion. It says you are allowed onion even though it would seem like a veg! Got a little peckish about 8 so had another fat free yogurt. I think the book says 2 a day is ok. I am feeling ok but have got a bit of a headache. Have to work on drinking my water more! I am doing the gym most days too so will be so disappointed if i dont lose anything on this!
Can i ask is it ok to have tea or coffee? I might have missd this in the book! Also where do you get the oat bran from? I tried a few shops and they didnt have any?!!
Hope its going well for all of you!
hi dino, its no wonder your hungry you really need to get the oat bran you can get it in the health food shops,i think dunnes and tesco have it too you can have as many of the fat free dairy products as you like no limit, you can have as much of the attack foods you want, you can be picking all day at ham, chicken, fish, steak crab sticks, you can also have all herbs and spices and vinegar,so you should really be stocking up on those, there is no need to feel hungry!if you feel hunger you wont be able to go the distance with this diet.....if you have the book you should read it, just read the first 2 phases to start and when your into the swing of it read the next two i know you just want fast results same as me,but you cant do a days work when your starving...read the book the more you know about the diet the better you can prepare for it,ye know what they say..."fail to prepare prepare to fail" in the book it says do not do exercise on the attack in fact the whole way through the book its just advises to do walking no gym at least not at the start you are allowed tea and coffee but with skimmed milk,iv food the berry teas lovely and great for the sweet tooth,i use canderel with mine really hope you get on well with this diet, keep us posted

Hey Errigal Thanks for th encouragement. Its going well so far; am sticking well enough to it even though I have some kind of viral ilness with high temps , and am on an antibiotic since yesterday. My man is really struggling though ; cant really seem to help him with it - he keeps eating fruit even though he knows there is sugar in it ! Its definitely easier when no carbs are being bought /prepared. Best of luck to everyone; I cant wait to fit back into some of my summer stuff- white jeans here I come!!

Oh dear look what Ive just come across on Daily Mail "A survey of 5,000 Dukan dieters in France found that 80 per cent of them regained all their weight, and its inventor, Pierre Dukan, is suing a rival who claims his regime is useless and dangerous. I don’t know why he’s bothering. We’re all still awestruck by how fantastically svelte his diet’s most famous devotee, Carole Middleton, looked at the Royal Wedding. So for the foreseeable future, I think anyone who wants to lose weight is probably going to adopt what I’ve decided to call the Carole conjugation: If Shekan Dukan, Ikan! " Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/artic ... z1O0xRYeLsCant help wondering did Kate do Dukan also

thats when i heard about the dukan diet,i read that kate had done it for the wedding, altho she really had no need im not going to read the daily mail,i know it will turn me off,i have a feeling that if i stop the diet before the last phase i will for sure put the weight back on but sure every diet is the same look at ww and unislim you have to stick to to them in order to keep it off im a little bit today my scales havent moved since monday im the same weight and its so annoying because i just have 2lbs to go untill im in a different stone category iykwim hopefully by the weekend i will have it off do you know what might help your h2b,does he like choc? do you know the wee sachets of options drinking choc? heat up some milk in the microwave and put in literally about a quarter of the sachet in with the milk and some canderel,my fella loves choc and sweet things and that what he's doing, seems to help

ooh very good didit realise Kate did it so sorry didnt mean to be negative- agree completely every diet needs positive longterm changes or else the weight just goes back on, I went back to eating like my 6 ft 2 man , and sitting on my ass so of course the weight went back on . This time I am back jogging/walking regularly , eating healthily etc so jnow this is the last time I will ever need to lose weight. Well until some come along soon hopefully Thanks Errigal for the choc tip- I just let him know and he is excited. I guess I am kind of more doing the South Beach diet than Dukan with the veg etc , but hopefully will work anyway .....looking forward to weigh in Think am gonna go for a stroll today as still feelin lousy dont wanna do too much !! Best of luck to everyone ;Kate is certainly motivating me now woo hoo!!

Thanks Errigal. Yeah i did read the first few chapters of the book - very quickly though! I must have missed or forgot about the trea or coffee! Got the oatbran and had it with my yogurt today so it was much more filling. I am not doing too much at the gym. I have really got used to my exercise over last few months and going to classes so I am definitely not prepared to give that up for the long term - i really enjoy my classes etc. I only want to shift another few pounds and then its more toning for me. I am going to do the attack just for another 2-3 days and then move onto the next one. Are you drinking any fizzy drinks - the book says you are allowed diet coke! I am not a big drinker of fizzy drinks - but have my sweet tooth and missy my treats so I am thinking this might make up for it. Liking your idea too with the hot choc! Was this in the book? Best of luck with the rest of your weight loss - you did great so far!

hi dino, your great for going to the gym i am usless for it,i am going to start zumba tho im better doing classes fizzy drinks ohh yes im drinking diet 7up ye can have all diet drinks for the sweet tooth yesterday i made a pavalova with splenda, but you have to heat the splenda with water and lemon juice to make it sticky then add that to the beaten egg whites,i found it better to do this than add the splenda straight in because i felt it got lost with the whites,it just ended up tasting like eggs then i added some lemon juice and splenda to a natural plane yoghhrt and when the pavalova was cooked poured it on top,it was nice but it is not your normal crunchy on the outside soft in the middle pavalova that we all know and love but it kept the sweet tooth at bay and felt i was getting something nice no the choc is not in the book he did mention that we could use a low or no fat choc to skim milk, so i thought the options one is light and if you only use a small amount it should be grand

Hi Girls,
Mind if I join you? I started this diet on Mon - now to be fair I have had a little veg most nights but I have lost 3.5 pounds so far, so it's definitely working! Going to try cut out the veg for the next few days and see if that increases the weight loss. I haven't bought the book yet - bit broke at the moment, but there seems to be so much info online that I think I am ok without it for the time being.
Quick question for you, what yogurts are you eating and where did you get them? I bought Danone Activia 0% fat in Dunnes, but they had fruit pieces in them and I read today that they are a no no for this diet. I really dislike plain yogurt - find it v bitter, so would be interested to hear what others are eating!
Also is it true you can eat onion in the attack phase?
Thanks in advance for any info

Onken do a fat free vanilla yoghurt. it comes in a big tub and it tastes much sweeter if you find natural bitter.
yeh a little bit of onion is allowed with food in the attack phase. i think its meant more for flavour though than eating loads of it.

Hi girls, I have done the dukan diet but have not been very strict. I have lost weight and I have to say no bad effects. Another friend of mine did it for 6 weeks she was really strict and lost a stone and half. I think this is great to kick start losing a few pounds as it gets your system going and gives you motivation. But a healthy balanced diet is probably the best and exercise.
